So i bought her a Kindle

She will be reading for a long time with that amount of books....

I'm a bit unsure as to the need for a kindle....

iPad tends to be more than capable to use as an ereader to be honest.....

I thought you could download the kindle app on the ipad? I suppose it would easier and safer to take the kindle to places you might not want to take the ipad.

I have got 9,430 eBooks yes, 12gbs worth, but she likes paper books too, once read we can always Bay them to brig some money back.

I am just a bit stuck on the whole Kindle being worth it question.

Noooooooooooo!!!

I can't wait for the day my wife gets a Kindle and I can burn all the books that are continually cluttering the place up.

A Kindle is a much better device to read a book on than any Ipad/tablet/smartphone.

Not as good as a paper book obviously but the next best thing.

Soon as my ipad and smartphone are in direct daylight they are useless. When I first got the ipad I thought great I'll sit in the garden. Needless to say it is useless outside in sunlight as is my htc.

I hope you're joking - anyone that burns books should be convicted of crimes against humanity and shot!

Donate them to the library of charity shop.

Someone I know has recently bought one as their sight is not so great. The fact that you can make any book on it "large print" makes it fantastic. Large print books are pretty expensive as a physical book and with less range available, so they're loving the Kindle.

Have had my kindle for about a month now and i absolutely love it. I take it everywhere especially on my tube journeys to and from work, helps pass the time.

Ive thrown all my paper books away and got most of my collection on my kindle now. Its just so much easier to carry one thing rather than a bag full of books.

Definitely recommend buying one if you know someone who likes to read books, luckily for my missus bought me mine as she knows how much i love to read...in fact im buying her one as she keeps nicking mine:p

Kindles own books. I look upon book readers on a train as if I would a fly buzzing around some faeces. I find this is a common opinion 'we' hold.

I bought one for my mum last year, and she loves it. She travels a fair bit, and had always complained how she had to take so many books with her to keep her occupied.
