Question for the Mods and closing threads

So, lets check this. I am both dense, and 'unwashed.' Can you not see how you sound? Why are you trying to insult me for asking a genuine question when your answer isn't really a valid answer but an excuse. I know I'm not going to get you to change your mind but give me a break? What time are you missing to quickly put a reply, you've got time to insult me haven't you?

Stop putting the MODs on a pedistal, they're members of this forum like you and me and can voice their opinion if they want.

So you'd rather annoy someone and let them create multiple 'why was my thread deleted' threads just because you didn't want to post in a thread you closed telling the OP why?

It should be a supsended offense really, dmpoole has done this numerous times when he should know better to just mail a MOD.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. If anyone wants to know why a thread was closed and it is isn't immediately obvious then email a Don....

My guess is that dmpoole likes the attention he brings from his nonsense-drama.

I have never had an issue, whenever I have emailed a Mod or Admin they have replied in good time.

Same, mailed mods a handful of times charity auction/name change and they've replied quickly.

Although usually hedge my bets and stick a few email addresses in.

I think some mods get thrills from closing threads.

My thread regarding flu jab was closed, it should not have being closed, it was evident I had being to the doctors, there is nothing wrong with seeing what people thing re flu jab helping not get colds, I wanted to see if people have experienced this. As if I'm going to go to the doctors to just ask that question it's called wasting time.

And if mods don't have the time to comment on a thread, then they clearly don't have time to be a mod, which suggests, they don't deserve to be a mod, it's a complete joke.

Trouble with those types of thread, although you might of gone to a doctor. Others haven't and might take advice from posters.

And there's always nhs direct which is for concerns and questions, not just diagnosis.

Whatever your health concern or query, we’re here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For health advice and information, just call...

0845 4647

When you call NHS Direct, we’ll ask you to provide some basic information, including details of any medication you may be taking. If you’re calling on behalf of someone else, you’ll need to provide this information on their behalf.

We’ll assess your problem and advise you on the best course of action. If you’re feeling unwell at the time of your call, you may be told how you can look after yourself at home, or we may recommend seeing a pharmacist (chemist).

If it’s something more serious, you may be advised to see another health professional, such as your doctor. If the problem is very serious, we can help you to access the ambulance service.

Whatever the problem, we’re here to give you the help and reassurance you need.

Depends on the Moderator I find.

The Moderators in here (other then Gilly because I couldn't find his sodding email, but once found he replied) replied quickly whenever I've emailed them, some others - no reply.

Just to be fair and balanced. There are some awesome mods too, like the mod who banned another mod because he made one of those "post here to get banned" threads. That was awesome

Yet none of the mods on line banned you for telling another member to **** off, nor when I raised it in an email. You lucky boy.

That thread was dead for 2 weeks when i was suspended over that, also that poster was obviously trolling so he deserved that retort TBH, it's the only way to deal with trolls on a personal level. That poster was luckly he wasn't banned himself, or prehaps that poster should have grown a pair instead of running to mummy.

No it isn't the "only" way to deal with trolls, you report them and hope the Moderators have the sense to ban people for it.

For a start the joker who gave me the last holiday, 2 weeks??

He was chicken enough not to even post a message to me about it, not leaving me a name to get back to, which indicates to me that what he did he knew was in the wrong.

Well, the last of your seventeen user notes was me, in November, where you were given a week off. A ban note would have been left on your account telling you why you were suspended and the offending post would have been modified with yellow mod text too, or deleted with a note.

I can assure you I wasn't in the wrong :)

Oh behave. Are you seriously saying that you are never too busy to reply to a thread, ever?

Many reported posts are time-dependant. They need swift response. They usually get it, and don't always allow for someone to leave a note. Get over it!

Medical threads aren't allowed. This is covered in the FAQ.

I can tell you now, there was no ban note for the last one, nothing in my inbox. Just aught to let you know in case somethings up with the notifcation system :)

Wow.. I thought it was something along the lines of 3 strikes and out (perma'd).

And yet we're referred to as nazis!

I can tell you now, there was no ban note for the last one, nothing in my inbox.

What do you mean by Inbox? The ban note would have been on your account when you logged in, I don't think it would have sent an email.

I don't generally email out for stuff that clearcut.

I think because it just turned out to be another AberwristwythLad (I don't think I can spell that) thread full of spam and then people attacking him, regardless of whether he was asking for it or not. My take on it was that the thread was going nowhere.

This is interesting, because was it not you that I opened the "bullying" of lolstockhasuen debate with? (Via email) To which you replied with it "wasn't bullying" until the OP (stockhausen) claimed it was.

Yet you'll close another thread full of "attacks" and that "wasn't going anywhere" of similar ilk?

This isn't a go at you Maccy (you know I likes you :p) so don't take it so, but decisions like this show a inconsistency in moderating.

It's amazing the number of members with 10+ user notes that repeat offend and continue to do so despite warnings, suspension and even the odd polite nudge by email.

One thing that has opened my eyes is the number of conflicting RTMs that are received where many people may find one post offensive yet others may not. A decision has to made which might not go down too well but it's a decision nether less. We are members / people after alll.. We have all been known to make to odd mistake or two and we are happy to admit those when that is the case.

I think some mods get thrills from closing threads.

On the contrary, unless it's blatant it's not something like doing without consultation from otherwise..

Is this aimed at anyone?

Do people RTM things that could be perceived as offensive to say they aren't offensive? or is it because some people report a post and some don't?

Edit, imho, the offence thing is a little weak unless it's perceived as a personal attack.
