Hi all, i have the white 600T (not that the colour makes any difference) and i want to watercool my system. upgrading from a coolIT vantage ALC which has a nice display but is very loud and not that cold. I want to start with a 240mm rad just for my cpu and will upgrade to a pair of 240mm rads in top and front for including gpu, when i can afford.

(to avoid confusion, when i say 240mm i mean 2x120mm)

I have no real experience of modding a case, and the only powertool i own is a dremel, great for cutting put not drilling. I want to mount my first 240mm rad in the front and get rid of the noisy fan that is currently sitting there and wondered if anybody had successfully done this using something like a conversion bracket or something? I know other side rads are available but all the best fans are 120mm so i would prefer to stay with those standard sizes.

Be great to hear some opinions on this, as i may just sell my 600T and buy a better case for watercooling if it is going to be too difficult.

Thanks:D

Why not fit a Phobya 200mm in the front? Much larger surface area (400cm^2 vs 244cm^2), should fit more easily and you can still use the stock fan.

Not a bad idea at all, but i do kinda dislike the stock fan. It is fairly loud in comparison to a pair of 120mm fans i think.

NZXT, Xigmatek, Bitfenix, Antec etc. all make 200mm fans which you could use. Although IIRC the main cause of noise on the 600T was turbulence from the fan grill.

Using rubber spacers is supposed to help, although you said you have a dremel so you could simply cut it out, improving airflow in the process.

I own one of these, what are the best 200mm fans to replace the stocks? I'm not sure whether it's just me but they are noisy on minimal setting on the controller.

The Bitfenix Spectre Pro seems pretty decent, although as mentioned the issue with the front fan is mostly caused by the front grill. Some rubber spacers to put the fan about 3-4mm away from it should help.

Yes, the problem is with the grill i think, most of the noise is caused by turbulence there, but the fans in general are pretty loud even when out of the case.

Might be worth trying a resistor in series with the fans. That way they will run at a lower speed and less noise, less air flow as well though sadly.

Will be trying a couple of rubber spaces later on, any ideas on things from round a general house that could be used?

Just for testing purposes some high density packing foam, even thick cardboard would work ok.

Unfortunately OcUK don't seem to sell grommets but they're easy enough to find at B&Q, Screwfix etc.
