You need to enter a payment option, we're currently in a 2 day grace period to get all this sorted. There are offical posts on the SWTOR forums regarding this, so please look.

I re-rolled (again) on a light server liast night, not looking forward to getting home and having to sit in another que for that tonight

I just redeemed my game code without handing over bank details etc... Seems to be working as intended.

Game is incredible, shame I have to sit in a que for 3 hours + each night just to get a bit of game time.

Seems i was wrong , you DO now need to enter a payment details just to get the 30 free days from buying a boxed copy...kind of a **** take to be honest as you are paying for 2 months just to play for 1 month, though ofc you can cancel the subcription once you have entered your payment details i hope....

But craigN+Andrew i dont believe you can play, as it seems you need to not only enter the boxed code but also sign up a payment method, very lame tbh given WOW didnt, WAR didnt,STO didnt,EVE didnt,DG online didnt...list goes on ....

let us know though craigN +andrew if you manage to get online without entering payment details, as so far all boxed edditions do.

Mine says I have 29 days left of Sub or whatever, I haven't put any details in yet.
