For gaming.

I dont quite understand what 120hz brings to the table, I do like the look of the Samsungs but Like the Res of the Hazro..

Playing games such as BF3, Dirt 3.

Thanks :)

Side note, will probably upgrade to HD79x0 in the very near future.

for me, high res wins every time

the 120 would refresh faster , if you really are in to your fps and want the highest possible + the fact that lower res screen would be easier to drive.

but the hazro screens are just something to see. I only have the WC version, but i still look at it everyday and go "wow"

S27A950D all day everyday! (all tho ive never seen the hazro so my biased opinion dont count haha) i seen the samsung at a shop today and i was blown away, i got one of MM will be here wednesday! cant ****ing wait im so excited like being a kid again 2 weeks off work over xmas aswell so plenty of time to play with it! ive always gamed at 1080p as its a lot better to drive 1440 is a lot harder to drive for me as ive only got a OCed 5870 which will soon be a 7970 :D

120Hz for Gaming everytime
High Res for Photo work/Pro Colour work

I have the Samsung SA750 27'' as I use my PC 99% for gaming. I am still completely blown away with it everytime I load up BF3.

For fast paced games 120Hz is EPIC. Super smooth.

For work the higher res of other screens gives more detail and more workspace, so would be more productive.

IMO the S27A950D looks AMAZING. For style its unbeatable. Super slim. Super thin bezel. It would look EPIC on any desk.

Thanks for the replys fellas

I get the general feel that the samsung 120hz will be better for gaming then..

Though I probably wont use the 3D feature as its not my thing really, Considering this would the Samsung still be the monitor of choice purely on the picture quality/smoothness?

cheers

I have been looking at a similar choice, either the Samsung S27A750D or the HZ27WD but mine will be used for MMO's / some FPS and photoshop. I'm now leaning towards the Hazro for the sheer screen size and the ups panel. BUT, the Samsung has the 120hz technology and the lower res will mean my 580gtx will handle them for longer. Pluses, some of the reports of dust on the Hazro's are putting me off. But then again, that screen size is REALLY tempting......... Decisions decisions........

One question, on the Hazro HZ27WD, is the 6ms response time good enough for games? As most now advertise. 2ms as a selling point?

More than fast enough, manufacturer specs are lies 99% of the time anyway. It's the fastest screen with the 2560x1440 resolution and one of the fastest IPS-based monitors around.

Hazro it is then for me, thanks for the advise

good choice mate :) on a serious note i've seen one in the flesh and i have one sitting in the wardrobe ready for xmas morning :) They produce an absolutely stunning picture, i'm one of those that doesn't believe things properly until i see it myself but when i saw one in the flesh the crispness and colour is truely amazing
