Right. If you bought the special deal from OCUK (The reboxed Lightning card with two games) then please post about it here..

Pics are always nice :)

Yes me. Infact i just posted in the other thread. Perhaps i should have posted here (although it seems like you've only just started this thread):

So i got my 2 cards today for my new build and they look superb! Didn't get the Dirt 3 games (or vouchers) with either card, but after some chasing i've been told they will post them out. No big deal i guess.

I was in the market for a pair of 6970's and happened to come across these by chance. I was never going to over clock any 6970 i purchased, but having come across these i am so tempted!!

I have a few questions that i hope somebody could help me solve:
1) Why does it have a 'silence' and 'performance' switch? There is nothing in the manual that tells me what it would be used for:

2) How could i make best use of these switches to overclock my cards to the max stable settings? I have checked the manual for these switches also, but nothing there?!:

Hope to hear from someone soon! :o)

I think they are for fan settings mate.

This may help :)

Edit. Actually no..

The BIOS switch will let you select between the default BIOS and a BIOS that has increased CCC Overdrive limits of 2000 MHz GPU and 2000 MHz memory, as well as a 2.5x increased PowerTune limit for the board. Please note that the writing on the PCB shows as "Silence" and "Performance" which is not accurate. MSI has promised to fix this in the final retail version.

Edit again. You have two? I officially hate you :D

Nice going man, would loooooove a second one for my other PC :D

Don't worry about the game codes. OCUK have forgotten numerous things that were supposed to be chucked in with my orders (Razer Tshirt with my Boomslang and a game code) just use the contact form and they'll sort it out :)

The voltage switches are best left alone as they are for extreme cooling, unless of course you intend to use LN2/DICE.

I think one of them removes the thermal throttle on the card. You will need to use that one for 1ghz+. I got mine to 1035mhz with 1.35v but it was throttling in benchmarks.

Hi Alex and w3bbo,
I shall leave the voltage switches alone then. As for the silence and performance switch.. is the performance bios pre-stored (ie, do i flick the switch and get additional performance? Or do i need to load a modded bios onto the card?). Excuse the question, i'm only just getting back into the world of PC components so still learning!

@ warmasice

Are you going for the sig. which breaks the rules by the greatest margin?

4 lines of text only or an image of 400x75 pixels with 1 line of text.

It looks ok in CP (4 lines), but seems to truncate it over more than 4 lines when i post. Strange.

Edit: deleted sig completely for arguments sake :)

Do you know which one it is?!

Sadly no. It *may* be that silent switch. I read about it in a review somewhere.

I think if you throw the silent switch to performance it's no holds barred, you're on your own.

I mean it ups the limit to 2000mhz and 2 volts.

With 2 cards i may just pass - no point frying them. I think getting to 960 like you did sounds good. Main reason i went for this card is the cooling and lower 'ish' noise.

I'm part of this club... I got it when it was Battlefield 3 and Dirt 3 included (think the bundle has now changed). I have the code for Battlefield but don't have any code or anything for Dirt 3 though? Was it emailed over or somewhere in the box?

DiRT3 should have been on a voucher in the box.

Some cards were advertised with DiRT3 as "subject to availability" and you only received it if there's a sticker on the outside of the box saying it's included.
