So who's ditching 6900 series for 7900?

Its a shame they have not come sooner...Give me something to play with over xmas.

I expect to see floods of 6950/6970's In MM soon

Will you ditch? Even if the cost is high?

Is the die shrink to tempting?:p

Merry Christmas BTW

Am thinking will skip this generation, though when the 7850/70's are out, if I can get them for little cost by selling my toxics, I may consider it for less noise/heat.

Otherwise, either next gen Ati or Nvidia and at the same time upgrade to Ivy Bridge, and then hopefully stick with system like that for a long, long time.

I've just got crossfire after picking up a second 6950. Running unlocked and heavily overclocked, i believe these will still be faster than a 7970. I was put off by the price. It was cheaper and offered better performance for me to add a 6950. I do worry about the next electricity bill though.

I was going to move to 7970 cf from 6950 cf, but if the price estimates are correct, ill either wait to see what nvidia offer or wait for 89**.

Have been running 5830's in xfire and skipped the 6XXX series as not really had any issues running the games I play but if the price is right am tempted by a single 7XXX series and ditching xfire

i'm certainly ditching ati for nvidia so my next gpus will be 2x770 or 780. crossfire is just not worth the trouble plus my favourite game this year (saints row the third) runs like crap on ati cards.

Crossfire 6970s suck balls so I'm moving onto a single GPU solution as soon as possible. I'm aware that 7970 will likely still not be as fast as my current setup, but when half the games don't work with it anyway, what's the point?

I went from 5850 > 4830 > Intel HD3000

Still using the HD3000 will just wait for the prices to come down or pick up a 6*** series from MM I am not a full on gamer but always want to keep one step ahead of my friends :D

I'm on crossfire 5830s, they're easily powerful enough to run any game that's come out so far.

But still, MOAR POWAH sounds nice, and I'm sick of microstutter.

Thing is the 7 series will cost nearly double what I paid for my 6970 and apparently is almost twice as fast.

And given that my 6970 can do everything it needs to do (and well, I may add) I don't see the point nor the value.

If I needed a new card because mine wasn't good enough I would definitely consider a lower end model from the 7 series, but I'm not falling into the trap of buying FPS I can't see. I very very rarely see BF3 dip into the 30s, and for the most part my card has it in the upper 40s. So I just don't see the point. It's not like we're waiting for Doom 3 is it?

I'd love to upgrade and would consider it if I could get a decent price for my Toxic but with the rumoured prices of the 79xx I think the cost to upgrade will just be too much to justify :(
