6950 Sapphire bios unlocking?

Will try it - would not damage it or anything would it? Just wondering if they pre-loaded the bios on purpose to unlock it @ 6970 shaders, why would they put it in such an awkward position.

Is that the Sapphire Toxic card? Don't recall it being that fiddly on mine, just got a finger nail under it, didn't take any real force to move.

Right 6950 installed, yeah its the dual fan card. Installing drivers now so i can view @ 2560x1440 :D

Just make sure you use a dual link DVI cable and the dual link DVI connector on the graphics card (the other is only single link).

Edit

Or DisplayPort if your monitor supports that.

I call that a successful shader unlock :D

First you need to test for stability before you can confirm a successful unlock.

Second the performance is going to be diabolical.

PCI-E 1.1 @ x4 speed. That's the equivalent of if PCI-E 2.0 at x2 speed.

Something looks very wrong.

Did i put it in the wrong spot? As apose to the PCI-E x16? I think thats the case

Also found this - may be the issue

Corrected Status as reported:

- Each 6950 shows PCIE 1.1, x16, when run as a single card in slot PCIE2.

- When running the two cards in PCIE2 and 4, both cards are shown as running PCIE 2.0. The card in PCIE2 is shown running x4 and the card in PCIE4 is shown as x8. When the cards are swicthed, the result is the same.
