So i'm getting my first company car, i was all excited until i saw the power of the cars available :(

So which would you guys choose from the below list?

I'm steering towards (no pun intended) the 1 Series (i know it's a 116d!) or the Ford Focus Titanium.

Audi A3
1.4 TFSI SE Start/Stop 5dr
1.6 TDI 105 5dr

BMW 1 series
116i Sport 5dr
116d Sport 5dr

Ford Focus
1.6 125 Titanium 5dr
1.6T 150 Ecoboost Titanium X 5dr
2.0 TDCi 140 Zetec 5dr

Ford Mondeo
1.6 160 Ecoboost Zetec S/S 5dr
2.0 TDCi 140 Edge 5dr

Honda Civic Hatchback
1.4 i-VTEC Si-T 5dr
1.8 i-VTEC Si-T 5dr

Seat Leon
1.4 TSI Sport 5dr
2.0 TDI 140 Sport 5dr

Skoda Octavia
1.8 TSI 160 Elegance 5dr
1.6 TDI CR Greenline II 5dr

Skoda Superb
2.0 TDI CR 140 S 5dr

Renualt Megane
1.9 dCi 130 Dyn. Tom Tom 5dr

Volkswagen Golf
1.4 TSI 122 Match 5dr
1.6 TDI 105 Bluemotion 5dr

Volkswagen Passat Saloon
1.4 TSI 122 S Bluemotion Tech 4dr
1.8 TSI 160 S 4dr

Considering none of those engine really stand out, your choice should be made purely on which one you would prefer to drive.

My guess would be the Focus Titanium X has the most kit on it. The BMW, Audi and VW will have the nicest cabin.

You might want to work out how much these will cost YOU in company car tax, as that could also be a deciding factor...

This ^^ or the Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 140 Edge 5dr.

The 116d is pretty hateful imo but hey at least it is a BMW right :D:D

the Ford Focus Titanium.

I must admit that this is based purely on sitting in one at a dealers stand at a local show and I'm sure it is a great car but... I really can't get on with the interior of these. It seems to combine several elements that I don't like in car design (shiny silver plastics, weird button layouts, unnecessarily flash displays, penny farthing driving position) into one package. Bits of it seemed to be heavily compromised in the sake of saving the odd pound here and there.

Is there much of a cost difference between them as it seems quite a mix?

I agree with the interior, far too much chrome/silver/shiny bits in new Fords.

A3 1.4TFSI is probably the best engine there? The A3 is a bit long in the tooth now though...

Yeah i may go for one of the petrols, i like the power of the passat, but am not too keen on the shape of it. I wish i could remap the car, but if anything happened to it, then it would invalidate the insurance, and i'd be looking for a new job!

Engines like the 116d have just been de-mapped anyway, i asked about a 118 or 120d, but they're a no go :(

The next question is, what color?

Get a bluefin - you can re-flash it back to standard map at any time.
Or a DTUK box if you get a diesel -you just unplug the box and nobody knows anything.;)

Superb or Mondeo, proper proper cars compared the hatchbacks on the list.

116d Sport = scourge of the nations roads.

People seem to have missed the fact that the 1 Series has been replaced and the 116i is now an all-new, box-fresh car (Compared to the chronically ancient thing Audi are STILL selling as the A3 which predates even the original 1 Series) powered by 2 litre turbocharged engine which gets it from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds.

It also comes, as standard, with iDrive, 6.5" LCD screen, USB interface for music, Bluetooth etc.

This is assuming it's a 5 door.

And don't go for the damn diesel, it's slow, noisy and the petrol turbo does almost 50mpg combined anyway!
