Cheap way to ship 100kg's from Texas to UK

Have you looked at any of the freight forwarding companies?
They'll arrange everything both sides including customs etc and do "less than container loads" too, give Toll a shout and see what they say. DHL and the like may be cheaper though.

This should do it:

We send stuff all of the world via courier.

It will be much cheaper to get someone in the States (who you bought them off?) to ship them to you as opposed to you "importing" them.

About 1/2 the cost in many instances.....

As a company we use a shipping firm called Woodland Global when we send pallet quantities over to the US. Could try them to collect? I think £250-£300 +VAT will be about the going rate.

thanks, I will give them a call.

Cheapest must be ship freight....

Also, since nobody has asked... what speakers?!

You plaster them behind your walls and then paint over them. I am told they sound very good and are completely stealth!!!

What's the dimensions of the boxes? Can check for you what we pay after discounts.

Thanks very much, I will get the sizes and post them this afternoon.

Surely you will have to pay tons of import duty on top of that?

yes I expect 30% on top of what I paid for the speakers + shipping

Thanks I will look into that.

Do you have the packaged dimensions, because many companies charge either actual weight or dimensional weight depending on which is higher. To calculate dimensional weight multiple height by width by depth (in cms) and then divide that by 6000.

I don't think you will get much cheaper than the DHL quote for something that size. Most pallet couriers will charge you for lorry to pick up in US to take to airport, then charge for air/sea freight, then charge import duty and VAT (with extra for processing fee), then charge for lorry to more from UK airport to your house.
Companies like DHL/UPS/FedEx have drivers out in the local area already so won't charge for specific lorry to pickup or drop off.

Does the company you bought it from not have a courier they use? They may have reduced rates.

Its not a huge box as they are quite small but heavy however I will ask them to give me a quote for the shipping also.
