I'm picking my mum up from Bristol Temple Meads station tomorrow at 1430 hrs and just need to know where to park. I'll be coming down the M32 and I've never driven round Bristol before. I've looked on google maps and can see some spaces outside the main entrance but I'm not sure if they are just drop off/pick up points or if you can park there. I also noticed a car park behind the station. Anyone help me out?

Do you need to park?
There is short and long term parking and of course pick up/drop of.
Parking costs.

There's free parking on Radcliffe mead lane for 1hour no return about 2min walk from station. Spaces are usually avilable.

I'll have to park. She's in her twilight years so it will be better if I go and find her rather than sitting in the car waiting for her! I don't mind paying for parking, I'm a civil servant with a gold plated pension so I can afford it (according to the Daily Fail anyway).

Cheers, I'll have a look at Radcliffe Mead.

There's parking at the station, just swing a left at the roundabout instead of going straight on to the station. That's the carpark you will have seen next to the station. Probably the easiest.

The easiest way is to drive right up to the station and park in one of the 20 minute spaces surely? The proper carparks are for people actually leaving the car for a meaningful length of time.

I'd say you're best of in the 20 minute/ pickup drop off spaces. The ticket barriers are just inside the main entrance anyway so you wouldn't be able to get any further within the station anyway :)

It surely will be, I didn't know the station had 20 min bays so I'll just use one of them.

What happened to the good old days of meeting your loved ones on the platform? Oh yeah, that was before all the fare dodgers and people throwin them off trains :D

They ALWAYS let me onto the platform to meet people. You just need to ask politely. I have never, ever been refused access for that purpose.
