HD6950 or 560ti 448....?

Wait for the 7 series :p

From the reviews i have read the the 560 is slightly faster than either of the 6950's. I would say you need to look at the games you play and go from there. What resolution do you play at? If below 1080p then i would be looking at a normal ti560 or the 6950 1gb as i feel the prices on the 6950 2gb and 560 448 are to high atm.

I will be playing at 1080p on just a single monitor really...

Tbh I will play most games, but mainly BF3, Skyrim and STALKER games I think.

I would go with nvidia for those games as bf3 and skyrim run slightly faster on nv hardware but not that much faster that you would notice much difference. Its a hard one. You could even say get what you are used to or if you have a slight preference to either company go with it. They are all good cards.

Some people believe that vram usage makes a difference so if you were ever gonna go dual card then the 2gb cards would be a better choice as you should be able to max almost anything and dont need vram holding you back. Its debatable though and there has been many threads on here with no real conclusion.

Yeah it seems that way. Very tough choice...

However I think I will go with Nvidia, because their new cards are further away so current cards won't be out-dated so soon :p

Plus I think Nvidia generally have quicker driver releases, so I will go with them.

Cheers. :)

I wouldn't bet on that. I truly can not see Nvidia simply pushing their thumbs into their collective anuses and sitting on their elbows.

I predict another product war this year.. Will be awesome to find out who prevails too !

But no, joking aside, they can't simply let AMD take over and run the show for six months. If they do that? they will be straight back into the trouble they were in for delaying Fermi for six months.

How they survived that remains a mystery. I guess they had more money than even I gave them credit for.

The problem now is that the brinkmanship is crucial. They don't have many avenues to depend on to keep bringing in the cash like they used to. They no longer make chipsets, for example (Intel gave them the heave ho).

So they have Tegra, but AMD have numerous other things. So they're going to have to get a shifty on if they want to remain in the market.
