1Gb Data tariff enough for Samsung G S2?

1GB will be enough. You may find yourself connected to WiFi at home, leave for work, and then use WiFi there again. Hard to find somewhere that doesn't have WiFi in a fixed location or being forced to use all 1GB over 3G.

If you are fine with having the SGS2 for the long term, then it seems nice to be able to spread the cost of your phone over the period so you got more to spend on other Christmas presents at the current time!

You don't need to do lots of streaming to run out at 1gb. Catchuptv absolutely rapes download limit.

Also 24month contract yuck.

That IS streaming...

1GB is fine for doing everything with a small amount of steaming.

Catchuptv, youtube, spotify, google music etc. are all steaming!

2 Year contract is normal.

Did I say otherwise, most people stream.

24month contract. Might be standard, but that's a huge amount of time to be tied in, especially when it's not much cheaper.

I thought 1gb would be enough for me when I got my GS2, How wrong could I have been, I have to limit myself to not using data just to get through the month.

But that is mainly from streaming music on audiogalaxy, the odd youtube video here or there.

If you plan to just do the odd browsing/facebook/twitter it'll be fine.

Just about to pull the trigger on this phone.

Found a deal with 3 for £17pm (24 month contract) + £145 one of payment = £553

500 minutes, 5000 texts and 1Gb data.

For £3 extra a month you can go unlimited data....., but as long as I have a wifi connection I wont need this.

Just to be sure tho, the background apps running, dont chew through 1Gb of data a month do they?

Dont know what to do know. Wait or buy the S2? I think the point is that the S3 will be stinkingly expensive, so will be out of my price range.... right?

get s2.. it will last the 2 years no problems.. its just rumor still not even confirmed specs so obviously is far or quite far away..

The apps in the background generally use hardly anything, the only thing that can use a moderate amount data is the market if you set it to auto update apps, but that can be adjusted in the settings so it only auto updates when connected to wifi or not at all.

but if you want to pull out of the contract you will have to pay w/e its left unless theres a valid reason

you will lose the phone but still have to pay for contract.. get insurance its like 4 quid a month and protects you from that

i need to do it too x[

Or add it to your home insurance policy! I did that for my Galaxy S2 and I barely noticed the difference!

As for the Data, I am with Three (And to be 100% honest had no issues, and have HSDPA+ 95% of the time and HSDPA the other 5%) and I use mental data! Record for one month was 49 gigs! It's usually around the 20gig mark per month, why?..... because the S2 rocks, it like having a mini computer on you 24/7! I work in networking and need my phone for tethering, but still go unlimited!! Remember, when Three say unlimited, they actually mean unlimited unlike all the others!!!

I think i have unlimited with t-mobile too, have never had an issue but not sure how much i use on my desire so a couple questions.

How do you know what data you are connected to? I have a H wtih 2 arrows at the top of my phone, is there an app that tells me what speed i am connected at?

Also whats best way to monitor my data usage i would like to know what i am looking at monthly.
