I am going to be doing my theory test pretty soon and I was wondering if you click too much, do you lose points? I know clicking too much counts as cheating BUT when a hazard appears and you click too much as you are not entirely sure when the scoring window opens/closes? will that say reduce my score from 5 to 4 or 3 if i click too much?

Any other tips would be handy too as on my mock tests for hazard, i have been getting random 3 - 5 and sometimes even 0 as i identify the hazard but click OUTSIDE the stupid scoring window time frame.

I just clicked when something possibly was going to happen and passed fine.
Don't click constantly though as it will count as a fail

i was told u r allowed to click constantly when hazard appears but not after/before that

If you click too much they think your trying to cheat and you won't get any points for that clip.

yeah i know that. Its just trying to think when the scoring window is open, because sometimes i have identified the hazard and even clicked when i know it is a "hazard" (where you will have to react by slowing etc), but then i have clicked too early "before" the scoring window is open and thus getting 0 points...

What is more funny is on some sites i manage to get 4s and 5s (i.e. AA site) and on others i get 0-3 :(

You have to click when you see a hazard developing, so if you anticipate a hazard too early and click once before, you could score zero. So I've found it best to click sequentially as the hazard is developing, but not over the top constant clicking.

If you click too much you'll get zero, as people have said. However if you click a few times as the hazard develops, that's fine.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Ganesh.

thanks, i think i will do that..

just as a side note, I have been looking at mock test on LDC and they have this facility whereby you can see the scoring window, and when you clicked and it seems for some clips i clicked when the scoring zone is 3 or 4 but they have given me a five? does identifying a hazard early on give you a point?

As far as I remember, if you click BEFORE the scoring window, you get zero.
When the scoring window opens, you get 5 if you click soon enough.
Then as time goes on, the score goes down to 4, 3, 2 and 1; dependant on how late you click.
Finally, if you miss the scoring window entirely, you get zero.

Remember there are 2 (I think it's 2) hazard videos with 2 hazards in them, so don't switch off once you've seen the first hazard. Even when you think you've already had the 2 "double hazard" clips, keep watching just in case you mis-indentified one previously.

thanks again, that is what i thought.. not sure then why this site has given me extra points :s

When I saw the potential hazard I clicked once, then a second later clicked again, then another second and click a third time.

I was two marks off 100% score :)

lol.. how the hell did he do that because you have to stay IN THE centre whilst you do both parts :s

on an unrelated note.. I PASSED my theory test.. it was today.. so pretty soon was indeed pretty soon :p

thanks
