Christmas is coming, and I got NO idea what to buy my dad.

He doesn't have a particular hobby, except maybe the stock market (not really a hobby, but you know what I mean) and likes a bit of Formula 1. He won't like F1 merch though. Doesn't drink wine/alcohol either. Hes got TONS of clothes, shirts and ties, so that is a dead end too.

I was thinking maybe a book? But we get him that each year :p

I was MAYBE thinking about the Senna DVD, but he never has time to watch that stuff :P

Come on OcUK. You are a bit older than me, and some of you are dads. What would you recommend?

Does he computer much / laptop, does he have a decent wireless laser mobile mouse?

If not, one of the 3/4 channel gyro helicopters, great fun even for a old bloke.

@Semple. Doesn't have much, but when he does, read newspapers or stay checking the stock market :p

@Mark M. He won't like it :P Plus it won't arrive in time.

@Tummy. Bought a grand total of 0 presents till now.

@craig. He's got them all :P ;)

@Other 2. He has a single core PC, with 256/512MB RAM. I think that says it all :P

EDIT: He's 54, keep that in mind ;) And yes, I have this problem each birthday/christmas.

None?

I've been organised (for once) and had mine all wrapped and ready to go for yonks now.

Also, get him something like a nice bottle of something and a DVD / Blu Ray box set if you run out of ideas.

You could just offer to take him out for dinner at a nice restaurant one night?

Or, get him a hamper of nice foods? I got my dad some good cheese and a bottle of port.

Throw silversurfer a message through trust and ask him if there are any good stockmarket books that he could recommend. Though there may be difficulty finding them in a bookshop in Malta...

Good ideas. And what do you mean with that bold statement. :p

I have no idea how big Maltese towns and cities are, and I imagine a stockbroking book would be quite specialist and wouldn't be found in a small to medium sized bookshop. Not having a dig about Malta, just showing my ignorance about the place.

The place is tiny. 27 by 14km

Place is indeed tiny, but we got a fair amount of bookshops. If it can be bought, it will be here :D Never failed me.
