thoughts on this car?

See this is why I asked, the car itself is exactly what I'm after, even insurance quotes weren't bad for my first car, but I'll pass for now. My quest for a clio goes on :(
 
Cat C is not a problem for cars of this calibre, could have only been a bumper crack, no need to run a mile, could be a bargain there.

However that Clio looks horrid

It was Cat C when it was only 3 years old and thus hardly likely to have been a simple bumper crack.
 
It's funny, I had lessons in a Corsa and my first car was an Astra. All I wanted after that were faster Vauxhalls - Cavalier SRi, Calibra Turbo (the stuff of dreams!). My 2nd car was a 205 GTi and all I wanted after that was a 306 GTI-6.
 
God. My lessons were in a Corsa and I couldn't wait to get as far away from Vauxhalls as possible.

Surely you can get something better than a Clio?
 
I actually like clios, they feel better built then say a 106. Saxos are ugly unless you get the 1.6 sport version which costs a bomb to insure. I learnt in a KIA, but I wont go down that route :)

£1000 budget and all

Yes, a Fiesta, OP dont rush into your first car purchase and dont buy anything that has being written off neither. Do what you already have and post the link to cars your interested in and im sure the regulars here will point out any issues.
