HD PVRs are the price of another GPU also. Bear in mind the HD PVR works off component so your going to have to **** around with cables and adapters.

There is the Blackmagic intensity though.

I havent tried recording cod 4 on the pc yet as Im not good enough...! but loads of people do to get their demos.. Loads of videos how to. I'll have a go at some point.

I have the HD PVR. Its xbox footage. As I have a monitor to game on i use a component to hdmi converter aswell. So i imagine it's even more complicated using it off a pc.

I havent really used it lately as im pretty into PC gaming now! PRetty tempted to sell it and add another GPU.

Through a converter. It runs off component HD cables. Im not sure if the converter box can input hdmi and output component.

Check out the blackmagic. Although I believe that writes as uncompressed...

So looking back to the first post by Masterdeadly, I remember having this same issue a longggg time ago.. with fraps and as i've read though these posts i dont really beleive its been answered. Can you record while playing the game with more than 30FPS with any of the methods mentioned. Most people say its very playable at 30FPS, how ever for somone that plays a game running at a stable 125, 333 FPS sitting at 30FPS to try and record.. well its not even worth trying.

Sorry if i've missed something somewhere mentioning how you can increase that or a way around it but i dont see anything.

You're exactly right, I found a way to record inside of cod then fraps that, but on Sony Vegas I can't manage to get 720p quality,

Have a look at my quality test -

I record my Orcs Must Die! footage at 45 fps using FRAPS, seems to work the best for me. Also have the recordings going to another hard drive that is not used by my O/S. Generally runs smooth :)

30fps felt a bit laggy so I needed some extra frames.
