'Gay' as a derogatory term, acceptable or not?

Edit for my views:
I use "gay" to express annoyance at things all the time, just how I've grown up using it. I have no problems with gay people.
A couple of female friends have expressed their annoyance at this usage (not at me specifically but the general use of it), but meh.

Depends on context. Bullying people because of their sexuality is out if order. Describing an object as 'gay' - hardly something to moan about really.

Your reply was glib, insulting and unsubstantiated, if you're not a cretin you sure know how to act like one. If you're not one then prove otherwise.

I have never once said I found gay people disgusting - but I disagree with them raising children and that's my right.

The point you made about single parents does have some validity; I agree there are many heterosexuals doing a terrible job of raising kids, but usually the father is absent in those cases, a situation also against the natural order of things in my opinion.

The male / female family unit is how nature intended, that is undeniable fact. If it was otherwise gay couples could impregnate one another and have children - they can't.

Nature is on my side of the argument - all you have is a modern perception of what is acceptable and one hell of a snotty attitude.

Frankly YOU disgust me, or at least my perception of you from your posts.

Like I said, prove otherwise.
