I'm back baby!
Saw an RTA yesterday at a fairly big junction.

Three cars sat waiting to turn left to join a main road, both they and the main road are being controlled by traffic lights.

After a short time the three cars set off. First two make it through OK, but for the third car (silver VW people carrier) one of the cars that had been at the other side of the junction (white 3 door Daiwoo) has driven across the hatched area in the middle and into a position forcing the car joining the road to drive into him (having not seen him).

Now, the impact was at the NSR of the white car, that has driven across the junction, but from my POV he is solely at fault. The other cars queuing with the Daiwoo haven't gone anywhere, and the VW has gone through a set of lights with two other cars. Fair assumption that they are on green?

The driver of the Daiwoo jumped out of the car and had a right go at the VW driver. I thought he was going to assault him at one time. They ended up exchanging details and driving away.

Options as I see it:

Forget about it, nothing to you with you.
Report it to the relevant authority.

I don't know registration numbers. I watched it all unfold from an office block window.

Forget about it to be honest. Details were exchanged, it's up to them to make a claim. You could have given both of them your details should they wish to use you as witness on their insurance claim but it isn't needed really. Nothing criminal occured = no need for Police. Have a beer and forget about it :)

Forget it.

But in the situation again talk to the driver and offer contact info as a witness for insurance. Although a littel hard from an office block window.

As a recent victim of an RTA I'd say report it on your Local police number leaving your details & let Them decide whether it is important or not.
The witnesses in my case were what brought a happy & speedy conclusion to my incident & I Thank them Greatly for it.

If you become a witness, you will be asked to attend court should the case goes to trial.

Without your statement, its their words against each other and it'll most likely to settle 50/50.

Hell, even if you do make a statement, i say the Daewoo driver's insurance company won't lose 100%, probably 70/30 best.

But if no one is hurt, it's all just money swapping hands between insurance companies and repair shops.

So, do you care out of them 2 who gets to pay more of the repair bills?

I'd report it and let them decide. Too many accidents end up with the wrong person having to pay because there are no witnesses.

If nothing comes of it, well at least you tried.

I'd report it, because if the situation was reversed I'd hope somebody would do the same for me.
