So General Discussion! The year is almost over and it's time for a bit of reflection on what has happened.

What have your highlights been of the year?

Could be something that's happened in your personal life that you're pleased and proud of or something that has happened in the World that has been something you've really enjoyed or taken pleasure from.

For me?

The change around in fortune of my football club, Sheffield Wednesday, from a negative club on the verge of administration to a club playing good football, winning and being in a fairly healthy financial state and on the up :)

There are many other things that will probably come to me when I give it a bit more thought.

What about you guys and dolls?
 
Passed my first year at uni with a reasonable grade, tidied my motorbike up and got it running perfect, passed my driving test and now on a mission to have all the pictures on the back of my driving licence photocard, because I can! :p
 
Well to continue with Tummy's football team, my team Southampton got promoted this year and are doing very well for the season this year :D

Got my self back into uni too after a confusing year of getting away from my life become too stuck in NI, which has been fun too :)

An old friend got married which was loads of fun and my half sister announced she is getting married too!

Passed my driving test annnnd got a gaming pc for the first time in years.

Lot's of nice simple positives :)
 
I'd just like to add that we've had a new addition to the family (literally less then 36 hours ago) so that's something really special :)
 
Raised 13k for Cancer Research with a bunch of colleagues cycling 450 miles from London to Newcastle (an indirect route obviously...).

Daughter learned to walk.

Got two new bikes. :D
 
Highlights... Hmmm... Nothing.
This was a boring year, gone extremely quickly and I look forward to doing some interesting things next year.

How about starting a thread for bad events of the year? I have plenty of those.
 
My highlight was buying a guitar for the first time in 41 years that actually fitted me like a glove and played like a dream.
It was that good I bought two.
 
Had an epiphany about my career and have gone back into education to actually do what I've wanted to do for many years. Sacrificed a very good salary for three years of poverty and then a salary significantly lower than what I was on before, but it feels right.
 
Got a job after months of no luck at the end of 2010.

Passed my driving test first time with one minor fault in August after a couple of years of telling myself there was no way I could pass it, so I didn't even put in for it.

Still no girlfriend though... *forever_alone.jpg*
 
Passsed the GDL.

Got a job in a law firm.

Split up from a bad relationship.

Proved to my dad that I will forever be better than him at computer games.
 
In no particular order:

Going to France and following the 2011 Tour de France for 2 weeks
Attending the TdF Team Presentation at Puy de Foy and seeing all the riders
Meeting George Hincapie - my cycling idol and the nicest guy in the Pro Peloton
Meeting Brian Holm
Watching Mark Cavendish win Stage 5 when I was stood 150m from the line
My wife becoming pregnant with our daughter during the Tour
Buying my 2011 Cervelo RS
Mark Cavendish winning the Green Jersey, World Championship & BBC SPOTY
An amazing Paris-Roubaix :eek:
