Highlights of the year?

My baby daughter, Sophia. 5 weeks old today.

Been a quiet year for me really.

Next year I suspect I will be promoted in my job and will have a couple of holidays to make up for not having any this year.

Realising after years of self doubt, ridicule from ex work collagues and even current ones, self pity and self loathing, that I made the right career choice 7 years ago.

The fact that my boss told me he thinks I'm one of the best workers is enough for me and has given me so much more confidence and has helped me to stand by the saying "** Please fully star out swear words - Please read FAQs regarding rules ** what other people think".

Wow, where to start...

its been a busy year, lots of firsts lots of highs lots of lows as well.

I guess i'll keep it keep it brief and to the big ones.

well from the start of the year, completeing my pnco Cadre.
promotion.
going to afghanistan.
seeing the most amazing thunderstorm ever.
getting a chance to do my job properly and proving i can do it well.
Meeting people i'll never forget.
getting back from afghanistan.
medals parade.
Buying my Evo VI
Building my new PC
Installing my first WC system.
completing my JNCO Cadre

i would also say Wednesday night just past, got a phone call at 2pm from my mate asking if i wanted to grab a pint or 2 in the town when he finished work, so off i popped into town to have a couple of Pre-Xmas beers with a mate, didnt plan to go out on the lash, didnt get layed, lost my bank card, lost my driving license felt rough as hell the next day, however it was easily the most fun and random night out i've had in years, good mates, old friends, completely random strangers a massive chunk of cash i'll never see again but that night will stay with me for a long time:D.
the unplanned nights out are always the best.

Big year for me regarding employment as I was made redundant after 15 years in my work place. That by far, although not really a highlight was the biggest thing to happen in my year. Got a better paid job though within a few weeks of leaving so that was a nice moment for me.

I'd just like to add that we've had a new addition to the family (literally less then 36 hours ago) so that's something really special :)

She's home now :) Beautiful little baby girl, won't get to see her until the new year I don't think though.

Starting my 2 businesses successfully, requiring an investment of just £180 and turning a profit 2 months later.

It seems doing your homework and picking fields in demand does work.

Off to a lovely Scottish inn in the Highlands tomorrow for some quality me time to celebrate. :)

Starting a placement with BP in their labs, pretty chuffed to get that as they only offer the 1 placement a year.
