*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

I'm honestly wondering what the people saying it's not MMO enough are actually wanting?

Quite easy to answer this one.

People.

I want to see loads of people running around doing there day to day lives within the game. I do not want instances splitting the population and factions and then forcing us to do activities that makes the game feel larger and more social then it is.

Bare in mind my only real gripe is the lack of M in MMO.

Agreed, if you don't like it then go play another game..

Hate people who do this.

Someone might have a valid point and something to discuss but I don't want to hear it so I'll plug me ears and shout "go away!!!" at the top of my voice until i hear only what I want to

Everyone who has commented on the games faults have I the past been more active praising the game, they have come with valid concerns to discuss but  god forbid someone say a bad word in an official thread!

Can't see it failing like WAR though, that game pretty much went on life support right away. Only P2P MMO i know thats had ONE content patch (the land of the dead zone). Theres also the fact Star Wars is just so much more popular and well known than Warhammer.

why because each class has a crap story with voice overs? warhammer felt more complete than SWTOR and had more endgame about it.. the M in MMO was there aswell

whats swtor got to keep people playing?

swtor feels like guildwars with a starwars theme , i dont see anything about it that warrants a subscription fee its the most instanced ever online game i can remember...

You can moan about it here all you want here on the ocuk forums but your not going to gain anything from doing so here.your just putting a downer on all of us who are enjoying the game.

Calm down.

I think the point here is that the negative points clearly don't bother everyone and them being repeated over and over again is just annoying.

You could make a negative case against just about any MMO (WoW included) with most of these points if you always assume the worst is going to happen.

Sure, not everyone is going to like it - that's fine.

It hasn't been discussed to death. It's hardly two pages. It's barely been discussed, let alone to death.

And I for one am interested in the higher level experiences and that again has been at least half the discussion.

then dont let them get to you?, all i see is valid concerns, its touted as an mmo but doesnt apear to be one

They aren't getting to me, I'm just explaining why they may get to some people.

I'm not really sure about the 'instances' system myself, it can make certain areas feel very empty. The thing is, Bioware can listen to these things and fix them, it may be a temporary measure to stop questing being difficult in the early stages of the game - as an example.

There are plenty of valid concerns, but they can be addressed if Bioware choose to address them; they have to. If they don't, there was no point even making SWTOR to begin with.

It is just as important to discuss negatives as it is to discuss positives.

If people don't want to hear one of the two then they don't need to view the thread.

Anyways, server issuses seem sorted to me, so I will probably hang around, after all I think it is the best MMORPG ever.

It's saving me a fortune too... instead of buying loads of games(most I will never play) in the Steam sales, I have only bought one. Portal 2 for a fiver.

Anyone who hasn't tried this game, and has the resources to try it should really give it a blast. It is simply breathtaking.

It's a bit silly for sandbox fans to be in here berating TOR as it's not as though Bioware hid the fact that it's the usual themepark with their storytelling added to it. If they don't like the game then they've no one to blame but themselves, you don't buy baked beans and expect corned beef to be in the tin.

Having a bit of trouble with my social gear from Voss, when I zone my stats reset as if I had no mods, enhancements or armoring in the 5 items I got from there, but if I unequip and re-equip it fixes itself... anyone had this with other gear?

Yeah, its a UI bug.

Just press CTRL + U twice and it'll fix it.

Hmm, it's not just the stats that are wrong though, my actually heals and damage do much less until I remove/readd the gear. Will try it next time though, thanks :)

Odd.

I didn't expect it to be effecting your output damage and healing.

Keep an eye on it, could be a bigger bug.

I really hope they do because I like the basis of the game.

Getting rid of server instancing would be a massive step toward this. Combine that with public quests (a feature I love in mmo's) and an achievement system so there is a reason to explore/travel more and I would be sold. I don't think a LFD feature would be a bad idea either, as long as you were still required to travel to dungeons and was kept server specific for community reasons.

To give BW it's due they are so far acknowledging concerns and acting on them.

I may just take a break after 30 days and cone back
