*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

he doesnt even mention wow in any of those qoutes...

I posted suggesting he take his wow related discussion to the wow thread, on the basis that if he doesn't like the game and would rather play wow then fair enough but this isn't the place to discuss that.
He replied saying where did I say I didn't like Swtor so I refreshed his memory a little hence the quotes.

why are you here?
no its obviously all a big lie , go by the game and post back your experiences after a week.

half the quests are inside there own instances.... all the class ones are. its ridiculous the game is one big instance it feels like a soloplayer game with multiplayer coop tagged in to the solo player experience

So this game is seriously just a single player, kind of knights of the old republic 3? With some light co-op stuff thrown in? D:

its basicly kotor3 with a space station for your side where you can go into "flashpoints" which are the games versions of dungeons.
it does have battlegrounds like wows that you can queue for but every class has atleast 1 CC and every class has atleast 1 knockback so its a bit of a joke

it takes solo leveling to a whole knew meaning.

No. You are just choosing to read the posts of the people that don't like the game.

I personally think that it's excellent despite needing work (that I'm confident it will get).

Comparing this game to Skyrim, or even WoW is just redundant and shows nothing but ignorance.

What?

This game should be compared to World of Warcraft and other MMORPG's.

What a daft statement.

World of Warcraft is the "best" (imho) game in this genre out at the minute, why is it wrong to compare and talk about it when reviewing or discussing this game?

There are plenty other games in the genre we can compare it too as well, Warcraft is the benchmark for this genre. Warhammer Online has been mentioned too.

I don't think it's excellent, I think some "bits" are excellent, but on the whole it's still good. It needs work and needs time to evolve and develop more. I agree with that.

Where has all the dislike come from all of a sudden? People couldn't get enough of it a couple of days ago before i went away - what has changed?

More like KOTOR3,4,5+6 tbh. I have actually been surprised at how much multiplayer there has been - it felt much more single player in beta. I also don't get why people think it is not "massively"?

It is in a decent state now, and has a huge development team behind it. At this point in time, it is still better than the majority of matured MMOs out there tbh. WoW is just a silly comparison, it has been around for years and had much greater problems at launch.

and the point he made is that if you hate this so much and want to try WoW why don't you go to the WoW Cataclysm thread and ask your questions there rather than continue to cry here. You don't like Swtor, we get it so please stop wasting your time in this thread.

Erghhhhhh Fanbois.

This is a topic about SWTOR on the PC Games section of the OCUK forums.you want to read just happy happy stuff suggest your own forum and disable registration.

I really do think of some you are wanting SWG or just a sandbox MMO.

Or if not a sandbox, a PvP focus like WAR.

Either way, theres no real need to spend multiple posts/pages repeating the exact same reasons you ain't happy with the game. We get the picture.

.

Don't know about others but expected more as I levelled. But nothing changes. Only got to lvl ~10 in weekend testing and talking to the higher levels nothing changes in the 40s either.

They may update it to a good game, but it's going to take at least 6months to get anywhere near that.
£8.99 a month for a co-op RPGs isn't good value in my books.

Haven't deicded what to do, I may play on till the end of the 30days, but I doubt I will continue past that.

massively multiplayer its not....

massive empty planets sure.

the game feels empty and souless a lot of the npcs around the villages etc you cant even click on because they are just gif going through there animation and it shows.

every planet is the same boring story aswell, kill evil guy help us win the war yawn... it gets tiring fast

i'd like a mix of all but the game is 90% story driven solo rubbish with bad pvp where all classes feel like a mirror of each other.

why even ofer pvp servers when the imperial and the rebublic for the most part have there own instanced version of the same place so you cant meet?

its ridiculous level a char of the oposing faction and youll see what i mean, everyone should be in the same area butg they arent they have 2 seperate copies of the same area one for each race and only in special places do they allow both factions to ocupy the same one

No, criticism is fine, the game isn't perfect but I don't think its bad either. I just wanted to get back to talking about swtor (good or bad) rather than how easy or not it is to level in WoW and how many people were around at lower levels now.

Leave it to the rest of us and stop replying, some of us want to discuss it.

most you cant have played many mmos especially at launch.

its the least complete mmo in the last 12years, without the story its barely a game, i dont know why people rate it as an mmo because it has a story... they might aswell have just released it as a single player game and had the pvp and major cities like guildwars.

guild is a chat room at launch? LOLWTF...
no loot rolling LOLWTF?
they obviously forgot they were making an mmo , most of the core stuff isnt even here

arknor, you have clearly played even fewer MMOs than most then, because TOR is not even close to being the least complete - try Champions Online, Star Trek Online, APB...the list goes on and on. Most of your recent posts in this thread reveal how naive you actually are when it comes to MMOs tbh.

Tummy seems to have presented one of the most fair and balanced responses to TOR tbh.

Lots of grown men QQ'ing in this thread, pretty pathetic.

I'm losing interest in SWtOR already and will probably quit playing when I hit 50 then keep a close eye on the patches they bring in and hope something resparks my interest. It's ashame cos i'd give my life away for Pre-CU SwG to be online still.
