Load (4600mhz)
Speedfan and Coretemp 60/64/64/64
AsusProbe 54C

This is using Corsair A50

Room temp 26C :D

Idle (4700mhz) <-- Not sure how to actually reduce this to the normal 1600mhz...
Hardware Monitor 38/38/39/40C

Load (4700mhz) After playing several hours of battlefield 3
Hardware Monitor 62/60/61/62C

Using a Thermalright Venomous X Black Edition Cooler with 2 Noctua NF-P12 Fans in push/pull. :)

The heat coming from my gtx 470's is probably not helping with load temps... got an exhaust fan right next to them tho. :p

Depends on your definition of "load".
Try running Intel Burn Test 20 times on max stress level with 8 threads and see what temps that gives you ;)

Ok complete edit:-

With Intel Burn Test 2.53 (10 runs 4 cores 8 threads)

With Stock Corsair A50 (61cfm@2000rpm 32dB) and using Coretemp, MAX recorded temp was 81C on (core #2)
With Akasa Apache Black(58cfm@1300rpm 16dB) fitted instead of Corsair fan 87C on (#core2)

is this still ok?

i7 920 @ 4.2Ghz 1.312v Ultra120 extreme and orange nexus case fans
Tops out in summer 30C ambient at 81C Intel burn test.

2600K @ 4.8GHz 1.38v, NHD14 - 30C ambient again, 83C LINX with AVX extensions was highest ever seen core.

Running i7-2700k @ Idle(1600mhz) & HD6950@920/1425 Watercooled 240 Rad

Core 0 = 31°C
Core 1 = 33°C
Core 2 = 33°C
Core 3 = 35°C

GPU 0 = 32°C

Running i7-2700k @ Idle(4600mhz) & HD6950@920/1425 Watercooled 240 Rad
Full Load F@H GPU & SMP for 72hours

Core 0 = 60°C
Core 1 = 63°C
Core 2 = 63°C
Core 3 = 66°C

GPU 0 = 45°C

Rad is to small for both CPU & GPU however fitting 360 Rad after a visit from the Jolly fat man in Red:D:D:eek::eek:

Merry Christmas to all @ OCUK & OCUK Forum

Nice dave, but i notice you were only using 4 threads where i was using 8.

After a bit of reading, and with my engineering background, while i appreciate the feedback, i can see the limited value of these results as none of the them seem to be 'calibrated' ;)

Ie using same software (temp reporting & stress testing), at same (or even reported) ambient temps.

I also see that mobo manufactureres still dont seem to have resloved the 'Cpu' v 'Core' temp issue, as i notice Asus still seem to be using 'Cpu' - (Tcase) rather than 'Core' -(Tjunction)

Oh well, as long as the bugger dosen't fry while i'm playing BF3... ;)

chrs guys

Thats not properly mounted or your case cooling is horrible, or you're using wayy to much vcore.

It also depends on the volts you are using.

Heres my i5 for comparison http://i42.tinypic.com/2mm8h6w.png

Having looked at my thermal paste, it is best to say it saw better days. Baked like a sunday roast... so I just ordered some of that IC Diamond and put a next day delivery on it. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow and I will post back with new figures.
