*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

You lot would be whining a lot more if every mob spawn was camped & you were queuing for quest objectives :)

Can't please everybody.

arknor, you have clearly played even fewer MMOs than most then, because TOR is not even close to being the least complete - try Champions Online, Star Trek Online, APB...the list goes on and on. Most of your recent posts in this thread reveal how naive you actually are when it comes to MMOs tbh.

Tummy seems to have presented one of the most fair and balanced responses to TOR tbh.

how many of those had a 100million budget? im comparing it to other major releases.....

first beta weekend was like that and people actually grouped up and talked to each other it felt like an mmo because you even saw other people around you...

omg, just give it a rest. Past few pages have just been the same 2 or 3 people whining about the same points over and over. You have added to the thread what you feel the game is lacking and what type of game you think it should be classed as. Great thanks, now please can we move on??

how about grow up?? You are clearly getting way too worked up over this going by your previous posts, you are also repeating yourself over and over. I could be as petty as to go back through the thread and quote you, but you really are not worth it.

Several people have now asked for the subject to be changed, this thread isn't all about you, you know. While I actually agree with some of what you are saying, I come into this thread for information etc, not repetitive whining.

The crying and bitching over the past few pages is just pathetic. If you do not enjoy the game, then don't play it. You don't need to fight with other people and announce to us that you have cancelled your subscription - I'm sure that like me, nobody else cares what you do.

Let me just clear something up though, because some people seem to be having problems with it. This game is a MMORPG, standing for Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG.) I have seen the game compared to Skyrim. Why? Skyrim is a single player Role Playing Game (RPG.)

The mere fact that you haven't personally seen many players doesn't change the fact that SWTOR is a MMORPG. You may not have seen many players due to several reasons, be it server population, time of day or simply because of instancing. Comparing this game to Skyrim, or even WoW is just redundant and shows nothing but ignorance.
Almost agreed but you like the swtor Dev's missed the point that this is supposed to be a mmo, problem is its feels very much more like a RPG hiding in a MMO universe.

For us (The Immortals) its fine we a decent sized guild we try have 3 or more events a week, so people gel and play with each other, except it sometimes feels the Dev's went out there way to prevent this.

Tho I do agree about the whining part, but hey if I mention that I get a warning :p

and the point he made is that if you hate this so much and want to try WoW why don't you go to the WoW Cataclysm thread and ask your questions there rather than continue to cry here. You don't like Swtor, we get it so please stop wasting your time in this thread.

It's useless mate they just keep repeating themselves like broken record players.I don't think they understand that nobody cares if they think the games is crap.

Lots of conflicting views! :)

The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that I was hoping for a huge, open world with little loading times where you can run into large amounts of players just going about the game. Pretty much the WoW type of MMO. Although I don't think it's right to say 'WoW type' MMO - I think it just is an MMO and how they should be. Anything less (like guild wars) doesn't feel like an MMO to me since when I played that everything was instanced outside of a city.

So is this how it is? o:

The only loading screens are when you switch planets/instances really.

The planets are fairly wide open after Nar Shaddaa or so (not sure what order Imperials do the planets in) but the wide openness is definately adding to the feeling of there not being many players around.

Imperials would do Nar Shaddaa at the same point as Republic, they'd just do Balmorra when you do Taris. After that I think the next few are both factions there at the same time.

No.

But for £40 why not just give it a go anyway?

I guess you could watch some streams or videos if it helps you decide, though I'm sure a free trial will come up eventually if you don't mind waiting.

Once again waiting for wife to go to bed so I can play. Got stuck in my first queue for Frostclaw today since rolling on it, was only a 12 minute wait though.

Note to self: Kill the wife.

And nobody cares if you think the game is great mmmmm? But at least theyre highlighting why they have concerns, whilst your just ermmmm, filling space trying to make em stop. Why dont you argue why you think theyre wrong and we can discuss it. On this discussion forum.

@Redman - if they do remove instancing, having lots of people fighting over limited resources would be one problem. But on the other hand having a pvp server doesnt make much sense when your clan cant even see the enemy clan youre at war with even if theyre standing in the same place. I would much rather they juggled resources and we had packed worlds.

Anyone able to give me a hand on a mission I'm stuck on? :o

I'm on Frostclaw pve/tatooine/Jedi Consular if anyone is interested - Revent

tatooine was the first place i saw sith but only after the 3rd area of it.

i saw quite a few on alderaan but during the last 2-3 planets i havent saw a single one.

its not because ive power leveled either because i havent and the server im on more often than not has a 5-20minute queue so its not because the server doesnt have much of a population
