*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

You never needed to, unless you wanted to do the lore. The attraction (addiction) was elsewhere. Maybe thats the prob with SWTOR for me, Im not really interested in a story on rails.

There a big difference between pve and pvp servers?

My friends are all off on diff servers and no1 seems to want to play together, would like to join up with a guild from here but most seem to be on pve servers and wondering if i will be missing out on a decent aspect of the game by rolling pve?

Also i have 2 ports for the ocuk server, both have swtor rooms and yet in last few days i have had it i havent seen a single person on the mumble. Do none of you use comms or just not the ocuk mumble?

The crying and bitching over the past few pages is just pathetic. If you do not enjoy the game, then don't play it. You don't need to fight with other people and announce to us that you have cancelled your subscription - I'm sure that like me, nobody else cares what you do.

Let me just clear something up though, because some people seem to be having problems with it. This game is a MMORPG, standing for Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG.) I have seen the game compared to Skyrim. Why? Skyrim is a single player Role Playing Game (RPG.)

The mere fact that you haven't personally seen many players doesn't change the fact that SWTOR is a MMORPG. You may not have seen many players due to several reasons, be it server population, time of day or simply because of instancing. Comparing this game to Skyrim, or even WoW is just redundant and shows nothing but ignorance.

Well to sum up the last few pages. There's nothing massive, nor multiplayer about swtor. A few co-op raids called flashpoints. PVP servers feel like PVE. WoW the point we're making, if you started now, you can easily find groups for quests.

who compared the game to WOW? you know what WAR is right? that other game that sold a million copies and failed even though it was much more of an mmo than this crap is.

a suposed mmo where almost everything is instanced and the sole selling function is your single player class story! its laughable, they even have imperial and republic seperated into difference instances to keep them apart on a pvp server.............

apparently the war is all around us....

and the point he made is that if you hate this so much and want to try WoW why don't you go to the WoW Cataclysm thread and ask your questions there rather than continue to cry here. You don't like Swtor, we get it so please stop wasting your time in this thread.

Whilst this is true it only serves as a comparison in that they're both Star Wars games.

.

It's in comparison as the best mmo.
This is a huge step back, just like most MMOs. Restricted careers, pants crafting, and this is unpopulated with non of the usual mmo features that are included from the start.
The entire point of MMOs is a huge degree of free roaming.

I expected an mmo with BW story line added.
Instead we have a BW game with co-op play added.

Quote where I said I don't like SWTOR. I said It's single player based. Never once did I say I don't like it.

Same, hate the storyline, don't care about it.

I agree with Glaucus, it's just a single player game. Nothing multiplayer and far from massive about it. Cancelled sub.

So you hate the storyline (main feature of the game) and you've cancelled your sub, why are you still here again?

Is this true?

I was hoping it was a big open MMO like WoW, and not like the 'MMO' guild wars claimed to be (I hated how things were in guild wars)

no its obviously all a big lie , go by the game and post back your experiences after a week.

half the quests are inside there own instances.... all the class ones are. its ridiculous the game is one big instance it feels like a soloplayer game with multiplayer coop tagged in to the solo player experience
