Do you think shooting/killing/war gaming everyday can effect mental state/health

I agree with you, but what on Earth is going on with your username? :p

If I had £1 for every time I was asked that.... :o

Its the model number of the truck I used to drive, a Scania R420LA6X2/4MNA!

I currently have an R440LA6X2/4MNA but never updated my name....

Alas, I'm redundant in mid January so I'll change the name to UB/40 or similar.... :p

no **** shercock but im shooting more guns per second
Not real guns, though. So not comparable.
the stupid posters are the ones saying real war is not like a video game..talk about state the ****** obvious. NO were did I ever say playing war games is like a real war.

I am saying that games have more action than real war per play time.

Whereas in a video game you fight nonstop.
Pressing buttons on your keyboard/controller and watching 'combat' on a TV screen does not compare to the real thing.

Your record of blowing up tanks or getting lots of kills (and lots of deaths/re spawns trying) may be a lot, but does not in any way relate to real combat.

10 minutes out in the hell-hole that is Afghanistan when you have been engaged by enemy fighters has no equal in gaming. There is nothing you can do in-game that even compares.

Anyway, back to school soon, eh? Life tip here: less games, more revision. Then you'll achieve something with your life.

I have a better education than you will ever have. NO need to make this argument personal.

Some people are going way OTT lmao. Taking it so serious..''oh listen video game tank aint like real tank!!!! blablablaba lololol''

Read my OP

You can't seem to differentiate actual combat from video games. Does your "education" consist of all day colouring in, you special *********? Back to licking the windows!

Oh, and your OP consists of the same drivel. You make claim to having more combat experience than any real soldier thanks to BF3. Your words, with no room for interpretation.

Short answer : Yes

Sensory impressions are food for the consciousness and psyche. You shouldn't feed yourself junk food everyday neither should you expose yourself to mental junk food everyday.

Short answer: no

Like many I have been playing fps shooters for quite some time now and to no ill effect.

This sort of thing usually comes up when someone who has gone on a real life rampage is found to have played a video game once in their life. Then its entirely the games fault. Much easier to blame one thing for what can often be a huge number of events and in most cases I would say pre-existing mental issues.

Why do people keep mentioning that they havn't gone on any killing rampages because of GTA recently. Do you think that's a good argument?

Whilst some of you may find this difficult to believe, you don't have to directly replicate the action of a game for it to have had an effect on you. Games are just like any other form of media. They influence people hugely.

I've been playing FPS games for 25+ years (I'm 40) yet killed nobody (nor fired any guns either) flight sims for years yet not wanted a pilots license and GTA since day 1 yet mugged nobody.

Imo, they don't.

An excuse for whatever, sure. A real influence? not at all (Hell! I'm under the influence yet I see that!) :p:D
