I Got my Dad a Philips senso coffee machine for Christmas. He opened up all ready to give it a first try, and they didnt even include any coffee pod samples  -Yes I should have got some but missed the shop..closed before I could get to it- how tight is that ??

Also on the box it shows some glass coffee mugs which I assumed would be included..but nothing??

Has anyone else got one of these machines did it come with mugs or sample coffee ?

Thanks

Eurgh, Pod-coffee.

That's like signing an exclusivity contract on your favourite coffee mug with Kenco or something :(

Mine came with a couple of sample pods but nothing else. I'd never have expected the mugs to be included.

I'm actually very happy with mine, I've had it a couple of years now and the coffee it produces is somewhere between instant and fresh ground filter coffee. I haven't the time for griding or percolating and this is a great compromise.

should have really researched it better and bought some pods before xmas shouldn't you

or got a decent one like a nespresso that comes with samples

Comes with free giant sized glass 'cup' :D

He lives on his own now and if he makes a whole pot it just stews, as he cant drink it all so the Senso is perfect for him..it seems Philips is just tight not to include some coffee.

I don't think they're a bad idea. Currently visiting my Mum in Germany, who has recently got one, not 100% sure of make and model, but it is handy, quick and the coffee tastes good. Think it's from Tchibo.

Do the pods have an expiry date? If so it'd probably be a bit dodgy to include perishable products with a non-perishable one.

They do. When I worked in a shop that sold Nespresso machines we had to replace the free pods included every so often with newer ones.

Tchibo's do sell pretty good coffee and are everywhere in Germany. I've seen them in this country too a few times.

We did have a Tchibo shop in our town for a while, but it didn't last. Think it's now yet another Phone shop or an Ann Summers.

Not sure if there's many left in the UK?
