Steam Christmas Sale 2011

I've got a free copy of Avadon: The Black Fortress here if any wants to trade it for something I might like. Also, I did purchase BM:AA in the end :P

Think i'll treat myself to Fallout 3... which i can go through when i'm finished with New Vegas, which i got in the autumn sale. This is the right order, right? :p

Been playing EYE and I'm seriously impressed so far. The game received a lot of negativity but I think it's just because it's an old skool fps/rpg with a lot of text and a learning curve. Personally I'm loving it for that reason and it's reminiscent of HL1/Deus Ex/System Shock. I highly recommend if you like the sound of that kind of game. I think it's the cod generation that can't cope with it. Even the lore at the start of the game, all of which you can read in the library archives, impressed me and has drawn me in/got me feeling engaged. I'm barely into the game and already more immersed than BF3 SP campaign managed to do (which okay - isn't saying much).

I completed it a couple of days ago and found it overall pretty good, with some things done as I personally would have liked, and some executed poorly. Like you mentioned, I also like the text you read, reminded me of course of other fps / fpp rpg's. I particularly liked the Metropologis (or however you spell it) area.

Likes :

philosophical input,

ambient music,

sound, generally,

map sizes were pretty decent,

lighting and use of hues - stunning,

artistic direction,

combat,

randomness, not everything being totally scripted.

Dislikes :

ending is a bit naff, though it nearly worked

the odd bug, though largely fixed since patches,

not being able to turn off respawns completely - some areas were just an onslaught that forced me turn the difficulty right down and in my experience that took away something from the game. I would have much rather have had considerably less enemies but with the average difficulty of each one a little tougher. There were times when I just wanted to explore and soak up the world which rpg's usually allow you to do so well, but at times this just wasn't possible. Mind you, I guess had they not gone so heavy with the fps side then in some ways it might have seemed a bit spartan to the expectant hardcore rpg player. It would have a lot to live up to in that regard to the likes Deux Ex or Fallout! :D

A great effort by Streum-on studios, and as someone said, they do or at least did respond quickly to my email. :)

well the only 2 games i wanted have both come up, got Skyrim as well as Batman A:C :)

Just waiting on dungeon defenders now so i can get the DLC and im a happy man :D

Ugh...no. Darksiders was sheer pleasure to play all the way through. Alice just drags on mercilessly.

Yeah I enjoyed Darksiders very much. It's been almost a year since I played it. The only thing I found disappointing about the Darksiders was the final boss 'Destroyer' lol. Turned out to be a 'not so impressive' final boss.

I've got a Beat Hazard Complete gift to trade if anyone wants? I imagine you can gift it to yourself if you don't have it?

Looking for some coal.
