Asus P8Z68-V vs Asus P8Z68-V Gen3?

I think I read that even non-Gen 3 boards, they will support IvyBridge CPU and will support the first PCI-E x16 slot at PCI-E 3.0 natively, so the question is...would I be better off to simply go with the Asus P8Z68-V rather than paying extra £28 price premium for Gen 3, if I am certain I won't be going multi-GPU set up?

I paid £126 for my V Gen3...i thought that was reasonable and the non gen3 wasnt much cheaper...

Have you got a link to were you read this? It may persuade me to go for a cheaper none Gen3 board.

Can't see any mention of PCIe 3.0 support.. I would get the Gen 3 board tbh for a bit of future proofing..

take a look at the list at the bottom

seems to be the only 1 not listed.
looking at the list it may just be a bios update the LE/ is listed and i think its a lower spec board.

Found this today. Seems to suggest that Ivy Bridge is supported. Scroll down to the bottom.

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

I'm actually ordering a rig with this mobo, due to it's PCIE3 and Ivy Bridge support.
