*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Good to know, ta :)

Although I'm kinda 50/50 now over doing it, Frostclaw seems one of the busiest servers. Already has a 25 minute queue at midday on boxing day :/

Shouldn't matter with an alt on there :)

I have a main on Frostclaw, but an alt with the republic OcUK guild on Kellian Jarro for when there are queues on Frostclaw :)

PvP is ****ing me off now. JK can't do **** against anyone with their CC. Stun > Root > Knockback > Stun > Root > Dead.

JK's have it tough in pvp no doubt - but I think there really is too much CC in the game in general.

So many times I break a stun with my 2 min cd, only to be dropped in another stun (that doesnt break on damage) immediately afterwards.

Diminishing returns needs to be stronger on abilities that dont break on damage imo....sometimes you just get dropped without control of your character and that sucks. I dont mind dying 1 v 3 - but I would like to do something before I die. :(

Indeed. They need to implement an immunity time after you have broken out of a stun/root/snare or once one has ended.

Ranged outclasses melee at the moment due to there CC.

Is there a guild on 'Chuundaar' (sp?) That has some OCUK Members in its throngs?

I know it has OcUK members, as do a few of the other servers, but I am unsure of the status of a guild on there. The main OcUK guilds are on Tomb of Freedon Nadd (PvP), Frostclaw (PvE Imperial) and Kellian Jarro (PvE Republic).

Can't say i've ever noticed that, you sure your not reading it wrong as there is 2 types of that requirement. Theres the requires light/dark of X level or above and theres forbidden to light/dark of x or above.

Like red colour crystals (mostly) are forbidden to light 1
or higher while the relics on the light side vendor simply require at least light 1+ depending on level of the relic.

Which is wrong. Red crystals would be for sith, ergo dark, not light requirement.
Blue crystals would be for Jedi, but it's got a dark requirement.
However, I can use the ones with the "dark requirement" not the "light requirement".

The companions comment at the end of a mission also doesn't make sense.
It's not tied to the result of the mission.

I've fallen through the Esseles a few times now.

Also in the Esseless the AI repeats their "It's victory or nothing" several times looping, and "surrender" which again, you'd assume is a bug

The flashpoint says it made be repeated once per day, I've done it more than that in a day.

When you think properly, there's a ton of bugs and problems.
You can't move the UI properly, in some instances certain elements of the UI cross over each other and it's messy.
Quests only appear in the minimap (Or on the main map if you're next to it)
Searching for stuff also doesn't work, clicking "usable" leaves me with nothing in the AH, yet I can equip.

Tons of other ones too.

Yeah agreed not quite as bad :D

We doing great, still growing at a rate, we seem to be taking a lot of people off other guilds the last week or so.

But on the other hand we have also picked up some undesirable, but as a guild we not gonna do much for about another month, so for now just watching and learning .. said before its a never a race to dominate, its when you make the move you need to be able stay there.

Its quite funny see the same comments in here, I saw in AoC, DC that the other side is dominating PvP, and as a guild we may have taken our own time, but anyone thats honest and was in either of those games with us will tell you till I left we totally dominated our server .... its not a sprint people its a marathon :D .. and damn we have stamina :p

I'm loving the guild so far. No headset to go on mumble as of yet and haven't done any big guild events as I'm too wrapped up in the story. Done plenty of guild flashpoints and questing though and it's a really helpful and fun bunch!

man the warzones are so bugged it's annoying :(

on voidstar I get the Bridge Controls, The Door, The Force Field, The Next Door and the Download.... and get 300 objective points??

Oh and 190K healing ;)

I really don't know why ppl QQ so much about melee in PVP. I play as an assassin and have real good fun in the warzones. I know a lot of ppl say the inqs are OP but most ppl seem to be pushing that towards the sorc side of things not sins.

That said I guess I have a slight advantage with stealth so I can sneak up to ppls before they get a chance to CC me to much.

Playing a Sin in PvP is absolutely nothing like playing a Jedi Guardian or Sith Juggernaut, saying that the Sin is fine so the others must be is just plain silly tbh.

I will be on tomorrow, but you can always hit up the guild pages (link in the first couple of posts) - or post your username here. Look forward to playing with you on Frostclaw, Murray (my main character is on there!) :)

I think you can use the /who command too?

Ok I misstyped my meaning. I'm just saying not all melee are completely crippeled. I have no idea what the guardians and jugs are like.

But no one knows what BW are going to be like with nerfs and buffs as its their first MMO and still in the early stages. I just don't want them to end up doing things like Blizzard where one min X class is OP then Y is OP then Z is OP.

That said I do not have a solution. Because as I see it from my sin side. Rangers are not as OP as ppl thing. When I sneak up to them and get up close and personal I can murder them fairly quickly with little problems. That said I think jugs and guardians dont have a way to effectivly close that gap. So maybe they just need a way to close it.

Yeah, the gap closer we get is just just a feat to stop us being CC'd for 4 seconds when we force leap on to someone but unfortunately it's in the 3rd tier of the Vengeance tree. Without it you're usualy knocked back before you even land or are CC'd instantly if not.

One of the biggest problems i see with the Jugg/Guardian is the lack of tools unless specced into Immortal (tank) and if we do that our damage is pathetic to the point we're lucky to see 1k+ crits whereas both the bounty hunter and assassin can do 3 to 4 times our damage when they too spec as a tank (also a bugger in pve as it's hard as hell to keep aggro from them). In order for us to get similar numbers we need to go all out offense meaning that we end up losing all our tools and being even squishier than a Marauder/sentinal while not doing as much damage as them. Great if all you want to do is ball carry in Huttball, not so much if you want to do anything else.

I have both the sin and powertech albeit they're only 24 and 32 while my Juggernaut is 45 and the only reason i'm sticking with it is i don't like to quit on something once i've started but i do wish i'd rolled a marauder as they are insane at 40+, oh and the 50 pvp gear looks awesome :p Bioware did say that Juggernaut/Guardians will be getting a buff in one of the first patches so i have my fingers crossed.
