*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

I really don't know why ppl QQ so much about melee in PVP. I play as an assassin and have real good fun in the warzones. I know a lot of ppl say the inqs are OP but most ppl seem to be pushing that towards the sorc side of things not sins.

That said I guess I have a slight advantage with stealth so I can sneak up to ppls before they get a chance to CC me to much.

Inqis don't have a slight advantage over other classes..they have a massive advantage..

They have a very good stealth, better CC's than most if not all other classes, their knockback is superior to all other classes and their DPS is also very impressive. Inquisitors can play multiple roles(Either Healer/DPS or Tank/DPS) and have lots of versatility and yet can still out DPS pure DPS classes such as the Sniper.

To balance PvP, Bioware need to: Reduce length of all CC's for all classes, improve damage and surviveability for Melee tanks, reduce AOE damage of Troopers/BH and reduce damage from Inquisitors/Consulars.

Logged on my Inquisitor to redo my dudes on slicing missions. One of them presented me with that as his haul for the last one I sent him on :D 2x level 49 epic augments, epic ship recipe for missiles and a 7k credit box. Yummy!

Bet the augments were accuracy :p Nice haul.

Some of the Surge and Crit augments are selling for silly amounts on my server at the moment, sold 2 yesterday for 120k each

They were Presense (:/) and Crit, so 1 ain't good one ain't so bad :) and wow @ 120k! gonna stick the Crit one up asap.

You should get back in straight away shouldn't you? I thought they implemented the grace period for relogging from a disconnection... unless you mean you got booted from the queue which would suck.

Went straight back on and was at 600 again. Is that actually working yet?

Seriously torn on buying this game. Played WoW since release with other MMOS here and there. Stopped playing in Jan of this year as I became bored of WoW and Cataclysm kind of killed it for me, not touched WoW or another MMO since.

Wondering if this game can reinvigorate my past love of MMO's with it being Starwars as well which I enjoy. Worried it may be to similar to WoW that once i get past the Starwars theme it will quickly become tiresome again, but then its been nearly a year so might be refreshed enough.

Might watch a few more streams this evening and make my mind up.

Loving TOR, but, it feels far emptier and lonelier than WoW did, but the gameplay (Imo) is superior in most aspects (Crafting and AH are awful) and I cannot comment on end game.
The story is the strongest element by far and I have yet to experience any real bugs (Other than the 1cm tall Shan which had me laughing).

It is an MMO, but a less online heavy version, a more story driven version... and to be honest, I think it is superior this way.
In WoW, I would have around 30 other people doing the tasks where they become the heros of Gilneas and that ruined the immersion completely. I had only myself and pet for two classes for a lot of quests. The reason WoW feels populated is a much larger population, active city hubs (Par exodar and Silvermoon) and the legendary trade chat of the cities.
TOR might not have that huge, real world feeling, but it has real immersion, and grandeur in terms of actual sheer size.
And you know what? I think that trumps seeing 4 other power rangers every 5 seconds.

Me to love being the Underdog, boring if we walked it from day one. Another thing you guys ever watch a kid play a game and see how quickly they soak it in, scary how fast the adapt to any new games, so yes the sith gonna be beating us for now ...lets last again in 6 months :)

What's your in game nick Wab?

If I could get an invite please, cheers.

Celrax - commando.

anyone on Frostclaw thats in TDR that can invite me? Will be on most of the night in game name is Muri(random nam generator)

I'm avoiding the pvp.

Was hoping for more "old school" open world stuff but it's just wow pvp which I hated when they went all battlegrounds, fotm classes, small battles and lol worthy amounts of CC.

Still loving the story though (and raging at my pansy sentinel, hope they get a buff!)

I dont understand this though ? as a sin I have 3 forms of CC at the moment.
Whirlwind which has a long cast and can be interupted so if im in melee I totally will not be using that as I would get murdered standing in melee trying to cast a CC.
My electric shock thing which breaks on dmg fairly long CD (this is my most effective CC imo as a sin)
Force slow again long cast time (again can be interupted) and well it just slows ppl down useless as a sin because why would I want to slow movement speed when I am already in their grill to kill them.
Mind tap, can only be used if target is not in combat and breaks on dmg. (Sap for the WoWers :p )

Ok I then have a knockback the ground slam thing. But I would hardly call that a CC and again id rather have ppl in my melee range to hit them not knock them away.

I will note that my sin is only lvl 30 but from what I can see I dont get anymore kind of stuns or pushbacks. So as a sin am I really that OP ? I have one CC I can effectivily use while in melee as the rest have cast times.

I would prob agree that my dmg is higher than most but is that reason enough to nerf the dmg completely. The only way I get by in warzones is picking and choosing my targets go in and try kill hope I do not get over-run by backup then pull back out and do the same. If I just run into a fight I will die very quickly. So I do not see the problem.

The whole assassin role is exactly how I play it. I pick and choose fights I time fights well. Assassins will always get murdered if they just run blindly into a fight.

I don't know much about the other classes at higher lvl. So I do not know how many CC's other classes have.

But from my pov. Sins are not that bad (maybe a bit high on the dmg side but then drop like a rocket if they get focused or cannot get in the first few blows) Sorc's on the other hand yea I agree fully because they stay at range they can make full use of the above CC's I meantion and that is prob far to much.

But inq sins are not a huge problem imo.
