*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Glad i switched from slicing the other day after maxing it out, you get plenty of money just from playing the game anyway. I have Biochem now as it was annoying me that the purple reusable stims were restricted to people who had Biochem only. Whoever came up with that idea needs a good thump on the head as it means you can only sell the blue items to other people from Biochem.

It's good that they are, it would be detrimental to Biochem, the market and probably the game if everyone could have one reusable med pack and adrenal.

But if you sold the reusable - the market would dry up superquick! The med bots ones are so expensive you can still easily make a profit

I finally got Diplomacy to 400 - super money sink that was!

For me - I want to see fairer PvP rewards for healers, I am always healing into the 170-200k+ zone, and as such getting little to no kills... after all I am there to heal - I get a medal for a 2.5K (which anyone can get just by using a medpack) and 75K total healing, so I get 2 sometimes 3 medals per game - yet I play with my level 15 Assassin and get tones for damage, killing oppenets, etc...

:(

I don't see it being possible to sell pots at a profit tbh.

I'm looking at selling implants which all characters need, uses a similar quantity of components as a pot but it's considerably more likely to be bought for several K each.

It's a reall a mess!

I'm extremely disappointed in Bioware at this, I got the game yesterday and it was a great experiance, yet today is nothing but disappiontment.

Even some friends that just got the game today don't know what's going on since the site and game is offline.

In beta they missed every maintenance window by 3 hours +, that along with the fact that they can not even keep there web site up shows real technical ineptness!

Can you ever balance a skill which by design gives you easy money.

I do nothing but pour money into my skills and I'm not seeing anything that resembles a profit yet.

Yes I (eventually) get useful items and occasionally sell some but they're massive sinkholes for money. Going to be a long time before I can look at them and say I can make money on any of it.

The way I heard it was that slicing gave way too much money back for the money spent.

I am only just starting to turn a profit on treasure hunting and that is at about level 200. I make no money from archaeology as that is just mats for Artifice and the items which it creates don't sell at auction and sell for next to nothing to a vendor.

I will be focusing on treasure hunting now and only choosing the lock box missions in order to build up some credits for the next speeder ranks.

When the bloody game is back up that is!!

After what Eddietop just said about the slicing. I'm thinking maybe this patch was something they needed to roll out now as there was an economy breaking profession in the game. If they continue to apply patches during the EUs waking hours then, obviously, I'm wrong.

It being economy breaking is complete BS.

It's a couple of forum fanboys on the swtor forums who have made some money off it then rubbed people noses in it, the rest of the community has nerdraged that they aren't the ones getting rich quick (anyone with a brain knows that crafting professions will make a lot more money at cap) and BW have folded like a stack of cards to nerf brigade.

That in no ways fills me with confidence in how the game will develop as WoW was wrecked by a similar community of "whine because I am not part of the FOTM crew" and every single time blizzard caved and it ended up with every class being stupidly OP, the game being stupidly easy and every patch day being a mess of making a new FOTM class because they whined the loudest :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

GG Bioware! Pity EA didn't follow thier normal policy of ignoring everything customers say in this instance.

edit: For the record I have slicing, I send my crew out on continual missions and after every mission I am only up by a few hundred credits, similar to what I am on my crafting alts.

Are the only hilts you can make with artifice might and resolve? I'd like to make guardian hilts but the only place I can get them is by buying them off vendors.

Yeah they need to balance that out a bit. There is a medal for 300k healing as well...but I imagine thats really hard to get.

This game has the potential to be truly amazing!

All but a few of my friends love starwars are and interested in the game. Yet this all seems like a mess after mess so far.

lol this is sooo true, its the way things seem to be now.

I hear you, I play a healer in PvP too. Pretty much all games I come out with 3 medal, maybe 4 if I get lucky. It's even more annoying when you don't get MVP votes and they just vote the people with the most damage. I pulled 360k healing in one game, the only healer on my team, we won also and I got 0 MVP votes and some guy that did 160k damage and got 6 medals got 3 votes. I was raging :p

Damn, i had thought healers would have been done the same as ours is with tanks. Every match i tend to have 8 or 9 medals despite doing **** poor damage, they all come from the protection points.

What a shame. You clearly have nothing going for you in your sad life.

I pity you.

How did you manage to work that out then? Please elaborate.

Everything I've said is based on how you've made yourself look from your posts. Stupid, unpleasant, spoilt and nasty are just a few words that spring to mind, I'm sure there are many more I could use.

It's certainly possible that none of this was your intention and you've been misunderstood, in which case an apology would be nice.

I haven't read that thread, but from what I've seen so far he certainly seems to have a chip on his shoulder. He comes across as a young teenager that certainly doesn't have any life experience just yet, hurling random insults at people over the internet.

Perhaps you should just leave people to their own devices ElliottJames. You're starting to make things a bit personal now.

lol why do you bother replying to this guy he its a total ***, and certainly not worth even bothering with.

Based on what? I can bet that you're nowhere close to what he is really like in real life, whilst you on the other hand are continually coming across as a teenager with a massive chip on your shoulder. Just gone back and read the Christmas thread because I didn't know what he was on about earlier with his previous comment, and tbh you really do come across like a spoilt brat in that. You're also doing a fine job of it in this thread too.

It's not just me who has noticed it then. :)

Back on topic, no ETA? :o :(

Crafting is a mess paulc25, I have 400 cybertech on my BH, discovered pretty much all level 49 epic recipes for Aim/Cunning armoring/mods and yet the ones I really want which provide stats for tanking like shield rating/absorb etc are not craftable and can only be bought from merchants.

Pretty much makes the entire craft useless as better level 50 purple items are available from the Ilum vendors for very little work.

Well I'm going to give BW some slack tbh. This is their first game in the MMO market so naturally its going to take them some time to get used to the whole setup. I do feel they are using poor excuses about the EU patch times but hey ho.

Every company has stumbling blocks when they first release an MMO. Do you really think WoW was that stable and patches were doing always on time without fail when it first came out ?

Quitting a game you enjoy because of some technical problems within the first month of an MMO release is poor show. I fully expected things like this to happen but they will iron out with time.

You just seem to question most of my opinions. Whether it's hatred or what and now your trying to make apparent your taking the moral high ground. I'm spoilt? What gives you that impression, oh I received some nice presents, doesn't mean I'm spoilt at all. Nasty? Because I have conflicting opinions? Definitely not stupid mate so I'm unaware where you got those ideas from, I mean I'd love to know the qualifications you've gained out of your life so-far.

The problem is though is thanks to Warcraft 90% of the MMO community is a bunch of tossers, so teething issues can destroy your game. Sad really, but true.

You kinda asked for it really when you declared people that are already level 50 have no social life.
