Man of Honour Nomination....

isn't it?

Now i'm :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::/

It's not better or worse, it is just different. MoH means you've been recognised as contributing something (useful) to the forums but there's no additional powers or responsibilities that come with it, being made a Don also implies recognition but not just thatit does mean you're expected to help moderate the forums as well - to do this you have certain powers/tools granted to you. As I say it is different rather than better. :)

So it's really a perspective thing?

Why would you ever want to be a don? All that happens is that you get moaned at.

But you do get secret access to the p... porn forums!

Meh, i'm used to being moaned at (bloody asian parents) so i'd kill to be a don :p

I'd say so. It rather depends what you want, if you want to get more involved in the running of the forum then being a moderator gives you more of a chance to do so but it's not something that everyone wants to do or indeed has the time for.

I simply can't fathom someone not wanting to be a mod!

Being a don is better than MoH, so no point making an exception :p
You are wrong there mate, In my opinion of course.

I simply can't fathom someone not wanting to be a mod!
I can't fathom anybody wanting to be a mod, Unpaid work & stress & it effects how you can post.

In my case the MOH came out the blue, It is Not something you aim for or spam your way to it is something given by the people who run the place as recognition for ones contribution.
Once given it's valued of course & I wear mine with Pride.

It is a little disturbing to see how some people are so desperate for it though.

I feel that the biggest issue with being a MOD is keeping your objectivity, especially in threads that you personally participate in.

How easy and satisfying would it be to simply ban someone because they consistently disagreed with you?

Well, put it this way, you could ban bhavv ;)

That's not being a mod - that's being a dick!

It turns a fun place into work?

I wouldn't say so. It always annoys me when I see a new member hotlink an image, mention a competitor and thing like that. I always RTM when that happens. I can't help but think how much easier it would be to issue an infraction and edit it myself :p!

As above. I spend plenty of time on the forums any ways so to me, it doesn't seem like any more work as i presume it takes the same time and effort to edit/delete/give an infraction as it does to RTM something
