Still on the quest to find the right tyre for my car tried top end mid and low

Michelin PS2 Juts worn down to quickly:rolleyes:

The vredestein ultrac sessanta bulged on the rears:mad: but I still have them on the fronts...:confused:Coming up for a change soon

Then some Accelera PH1 on the rears to get past MOT 63 quid each ( ride my bike in summer)

Well woke up few days ago to a flat tyre...Went to Garage he checked and saw this:eek:

Had them since August this year and of had very little wear so they have said they need to go back to the manufacture.

So with money tight I need some new rears and camskill will do 2 x Nankang NS2 for £163 shipped...Reviews seem ok

Thoughts

Is this serious or not?

On the absolute minimum get the 452s.

Are you on 255 35 18?

If so you should be able to get rears for £220.....

Thoughts? How about, what the hell are you doing to your tyres? Do you smash into kerbs on a daily basis?

Buy some decent tyres (that doesn't include Nankang, Linglong, Accelera or other ditch finder garbage) and avoid big holes in the road and kerbs.

Yes but at least they're not Nankangs...

What mileage did you get from the ps2s.

Can't remember but i changed them within the year....

Review of the nankang seem good enough while the 452 wear to quickly...

I do a lot of motorway driving so need tyres that will last

How many miles do you do a year?

I got 20k out of my vreds on my 330d, I do purely motorway driving aswell.

Please don't get the Nankangs, does the name not put you off?

I honestly wouldn't really take notice of the reviews, it will be from people who are so deluded over the cheapness that they will think the tyre is amazing. Or it will be from people coming from triangle tyres. Anyone who buys budget tyres isn't worth listening to.

From what I've read about budget tyres from people who are used to premium tyres is that the budget will perform poorly in the dry and perform horrifically in the wet bordering dangerous.

The nankangs will be crap, this is a fact.

Avoid Nankangs like the plague, I had them years ago (not through choice, they came on a new car I bought) and they were dreadful.

The PS2 is one of the longest lasting tyres of its type.

It's an RWD BMW, if you want tyres to last 40k get an Astra 1.6.

They where overpriced pap...The fronts were bald long before the vredestein ultrac sessanta that are still on the fronts right now

The fronts should last 30 to 50k unless your alignment is out.

I am not a fan of the PS2 myself. But the one thing they do well is last.

Mine didn't and I would never buy them again

I'm honestly surprised at the issue with your vreds at the back. Not heard of that before. Perhaps there's a rear geometry issue on the car.

It would be worth trying them again imo. My rear vreds lasted 30k and the fronts, which were changed at roughly the same time, are still going at 57k

35k miles on the rear PS2's on my 8L S3. Not sure how you managed to wreck the michelins in that short amount of time/mileage.

When you have new tyres do you have all four wheels professionally aligned?

Had 4 Avon ZV5's on my wife's E46 - they came in at £487 fitted at a local tyre place (225 F, 255 rear on 18's). They seem like a decent tyre with decent reviews.
