*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

The same one! Makes the name choices a little tougher, but no need to swap servers about between factions :)

There are a few folks here on that server who are empire. I've got a sith sorcerer too so maybe you should set up another guild! :p

Thanks to the two guys in Nice Hat last night who were very patient with me as I learned how to not be a total tool at this game! Much appreciated and looking forward to playing in the guild!

Mate, had a look at your pic, and I could not find where you put your "relics" on a bar to activate them, or are yours a different type?

Mine gives me crit when used with a 2min cool down :)

In the bottom 3 of the right hand side bar.

Although it keeps taking them off which is weird..

Another fun grouping session with TDR - problem is, high level Surtr and his sith sorcerer has got my wanting to level that alt!

Seem to be very few people around the higher level flashpoints. Thought more would have gotten to that stage by now.

I mostly used Vette, then used Quinn when I had a class mission involving elites I had to solo as I found his heals + my tanking cooldowns just meant the fight took a little longer but was doable.
In a few levels you'll get another dps companion so I guess you could choose to use them instead of Vette as I have or just carry on.

Main thing with any of them is to keep their gear reasonably up to date.

aah OKI, I noticed that every time you "ding" and get a new ability all trinkets/grenades(in my case) are removed so as you dinged 50 this might have been the case :)

one more thing my "relics" share a CD, as they are both crit just one higher level than the other, if for e.g., I had a crit and a power "relic" would they still share the CD or will it take up 2 slots, don’t want to buy one and see they do wasting precious credits of which I will need 210K very soon :p

I think they have different, if they are both Crit/Surge they will share, other ones do not.

I leveled up with a Crit/Surge and Defense one and they had seperate cooldowns.

You make a tiny profit but it's essentially pointless now. The whine brigade won and BW have probably started the gank/nerf fotm spiral that ruined wow.

Slow clap for the dev's on a patch that could have fixed countless issues effecting the game and had a positive impact but instead just panders to forum warriors.

I did manage to get an epic motor from a lockbox yesterday but it's obly lvl 30. Doubt anyone will pay 15k (guide price) for an improvement you will dump by 35. But I can hope :p

I had no interest in slicing but the idea that slicing missions will no longer make instant profits...

I make nothing on my crew skills. It's a bottomless money pit with either a light or a flamethrower at the end of a tunnel to burn my dreams of eventually making something out of it.

No one is really going to pay what it cost me to make some of the items I can when they're going to level out of them anyway.

Still, it's not a problem. I get enough from questing and loot selling to get by on.

Anyone in Immortals over on Niman also finding PvP to really suck on that server? We lost 5 consecutive warzones last night when me and 3 friends played them. Republic really sucked, no team work or control whatsoever. If this is a taste of things to come on Niman, I might roll elsewhere, as I really don't want to be on a server that has such unbalanced PvP.

Not in immortals but yes, I was on in the early early AM but the thing is, I'm not going to link them or say what they are, because it's completely wrong, but there's a few "exploit sites" out there which I keep tabs on to notice/report very specific things, there are quite a few on Niman (And don't think it stops on any other server) who are doing it, all the time.

There's a certain few on the Empire late at night who are at the moment exploiting some very nasty things and are completely train wrecking things. I'm not talking anything that can be done with skill I'm talking running into a pack of 5 people and spamming an unspammable ability over and over with little to no cost penalty and walking away without breaking a sweat.

A few of those things were fixed in the 22/12 patch and it did involve modifying the client, why these people are still not banned I don't know.

The complete denial from the devs anything unusual going on is really starting to annoy me, either they don't want bad press and deny it all or simply can't do jack **** about it other than eventually fix it and let those who gained advantages keep playing.

So we just have to put up with it, Niman (like many other servers) is overpopulated with empire anyway, there was over 100+ 50s for Empire and 22 Pubbies on yesterday two hours after servers came up, most in Ilum and most of our side not, if the above problems don't get your knickers in a twist then the zerg winning over the latter will at some point.

Also, it seems we get put against the same people in every warzone no matter how many of them there is :(

But yeah there are still a shocking amount of mid to highish level players without a clue and it's rather frustrating but for once, this time around I'm trying to just deal with it. But it's not going to be fun if this is the entire outcome for the rest of my experience in swtor. I'll honestly give it a few months and if nothing changes, then I'll change...which is what bioware need to try and stop people doing sooner and already.

Simply rolling Empire on that side right now for PvP is an incentive alone, then there's more people to PVE and world pvp with.

Fight the good fight, for the republic!

I've not been playing long, but rencently I read that you can swap the mods inside the amour with better ones, which would allow you to keep the armour from a cosmetic point of view.

But is that effective? I noticed that there's also armour rating as a stat, and that is can't be changed like the other stats.

I play as a Commando, either DPS or Healing.

Hi

I am a Cyberthech and make my own mods, I replace them every two levels.

You do this at a "Modification station" (looks like a gun on the map)

Cosmetic no big thing for me just my dice suck *** so I never win anything really so just keep my gear/weapon in check through my profession.

Have a quick Google i am sure it is explained in detail somewhere out there :)

Starting to regret forming a guild with a bunch of guys I have known for many years, we should have just joined a bigger guild - not enough social interaction for me :( making me bored doing stuff alone

You don't need to use the station.

You don’t? So why the **** have I been searching for one every time I needed to mod my gear? Odd, are you sure? if so .... what is the purpose of the modification station then?

And why do you get a quest at low level teaching you how to use it?

Will look into this tonight but that cant be right, anyone can confirm?

Guys could do with some help - I took a transport from Nar Shadaar to the republic fleet so I could by my speeder licence and speeder - now I can't get back to Nar Shadaar - looked everywhere - can anyone help?? Apologies if I'm being really dumb but can't see how to get back ...

Depends on who you play with last night we did a guild run and was all bar to matches, remember there seem to be a load more level 50 on there side than ours so often will tough.

Chokka are you in our guild?

About 2 minutes after I posted I found it - have to use the Jedi Knight phase in the middle of the space station ... duh, sorry for the dumb post.

Ah got half an hour to pop on whilst the kids are asleep. Ahhh great, 30 minute wait. I would start another character on another server but it really isnt worth it at this point.

i get the impression the server is nearly all imprerial :(

they have far more 50s than we do and the people in random BG groups just play as if its team deathmatch with no thought into where they engage the enemy.

the only bg we really win fairly often is alderaan i hate hutball with a passion as its almost always 0-4 and the one where you bomb the doors everyone just faffs about, the enemy will bomb a door and all our team will stand fighting around the blown up door while the sith rush and bomb the next area before the majority of our team is even in the corridor

When Bioware announced the guild headstart thing I thought they were taking it very seriously and would have the same if not more features that other MMOs had at launch(War, Rift etc.). They have a screenshot on the website http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/guilds which shows a decent system, however it is nothing like that in-game.

We have no guild leveling, guild member list is bugged and as far as I know there is no way to check when members were last online so as to check activity. It all feels very rushed and makes it much less of an incentive to join a guild. Disappointing from Bioware.
