Is it true you can get 2 years no claims bonuses a year? Say if you've insured 2 cars fully comp and you're the main driver? Could be with different insurers?

Someone told me you can and I said it's nonsense but he's deadly serious! :/

Just want to confirm it with fellow ocuk'ers!

I get a years no claims for each car I have in the house, so, as far as I am aware, the other guy is correct. They have to be on different cars though and cant be combined of course.

They cannot be combined.

You will not be earning 2 years no claims, you will be earning 2 lots of 1 years no claims.

As above. When it comes to insuring with another company, they will not honour multiple cars per year NCB.. only the highest of them. So if you have 1 car with 9 years NCB, and another with 5 years NCB, the new insurer will only honour the 9 years NCB.

Oh, so I will only be receiving 1 years no claim?

No, you will have 2 policies with 1 years NCB each. Any future policies will only accept NCB from a single prior policy.

If you have 10 cars for 1 year, you don't have 10 years NCB. You have 10 lots of 1 years NCB. You can only use 1 lot of NCB against a new policy, so 1 year.

Oh right, thanks for clearing it up!
