I'm guessing he's also bored because he has no money to do anything. But nice attempt at opening up a can of worms.

I'm a tech at a college, got the job in April after nearly a year out of work.

Like all companies, customers come first! and the main customers are the students, don't refer to them as children thou; refer to them as your equal.
