Ive enabled quick boot, disabled full screen logo and the marvell ide controller. All help to speed things up a bit. Ideally i could do with leaving my system at the login screen for a few hours. So that garbage collection on my ssd can do it's thing. Little bit slower than when i first got it.

It has an option to do with full screen logo, and I have now put that to disabled
No quick boot option though I don't think, can anyone confirm if the Asus P8Z68 V LX has a quick boot option? Thanks

I used to have (according to boot racer):
Time to logon: 6 seconds
Time to desktop: 14 seconds
User logon waiting time: 0 seconds (as I have no password, I assume)
And now that I have done some of those steps in the link above I have:
Time to logon: 6 seconds
Time to desktop: 13 seconds
User logon waiting time: 0 seconds (as I have no password, I assume)
Only one second less but ... every little helps

About 6 seconds to password screen. Then a couple more seconds after that.

Surely this isn't from pressing the power button? POST is bound to take at least 6 seconds.
I've timed a Crucial M4 on a fresh install of Windows with no startup progs and a rapid POSTing motherboard. It was 19 seconds from pressing power button to desktop.

What SSD are you lot using and what sort of motherboards/settings do you use? I'd love mine to turn on that quickly.
My current PC takes an eternity. As the other guy said, I have two raid controllers and they take forever. On top of my hard drives and other guff. Not to mention lack of trim on raided ssd's (soon to change
)About 1:30 for me. I'm guessing, not timed it. As I do what reaper does. Hit button and stick kettle on.

Umm, the SSD won't speed up the post, only the loading of windows so i'm not sure how some of you guys are claiming 6 seconds or something.

Not too bad to say its a mechanical drive and my computer hasnt been formatted in years. Over 4 years in fact, I just kept cloning my drive onto other ones
