Hi,

I am looking at a new USB 3.0 USB stick and wanted some advice

Just got an email from OcUK showing this on offer at £20, £22.97 with shipping as unfortunately I have the post count of above 250 but have not been a member for more than 90 days yet

Would that be a good buy or is the slightly more expensive (£24.99) ADATA S102 16GB better, this one isn't on OcUK but can be bought from a shop in town. (I think that is OK to link to that as you cannot actually buy it from that site? Sorry if that is wrong)

Patriot
Read speed: Up to 60 MB/s
Write speed: 25 MB/s

ADATA
Read speed: max of 68 MB/s
Write speed: max of 18 MB/s

Which would you guys suggest? Anyone used the Patriot? What do you think of it?

And is that a keyring/string loop hole I see at the end of the patriot or not? This is something I sort of want that I don't think the ADATA has

To be honest I have never heard of ADATA or Patriot before, so I am also open to any other suggestions (similarly priced) for a 16GB USB 3.0 stick :)

Thanks in advance, :)

Myself, I'd go for the Patriot - there's nothing worse than waiting for files to copy to a USB stick.

Hmmm yeah, good point :)

You could also look at:

Not tried the usb 3 version myself, but it gets a good review:

Thanks but I don't like the look of that (I'm fussy lol) and like darael says I want it to write things quickly, and the patriot has the better write speed

Any other suggestions anyone?

Why the rush? 15MB/sec on USB2.0 is fine

I got a 32GB one a few months ago for £18. Only copy to it about once a week for watching bluray rips on the player I got.

I figured that as I won't actually have 32GB of stuff to put on there, I might as well spend a bit more and get something that is fast, so what I do read from and write to it is QUICK, since I use it every day (college) :D

I'd be surprised if the PC's in your college are USB 3.0 compliant therefore you are probably wasting your money spending a premium on USB 3.0

My PC here is 1 year old, USB 3.0 compliant? Err NO!

Hmmmm well my home PC has USB 3.0 and the college are getting new computers soon

Might wait and see if they will have USB 3.0, but then again my PC has it, so I might as well get the latest

Hmmm
