*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Excuse my ramblings but I am at work no one in and just had a coffee :P

Last night I had one of the most fun Hutt Ball games till date (despite the fact I normally loath it)....snip.....

Had a great laugh and will be doing loads more in the coming days to make sure I have enough points for all the level 40 PVP gear which is PVE gear anyway, both DPS and Tanking :D

Level 38, enough credits from my riding skill, self crafted speeder in cargo hold and just itching to level, why did I agree to work this week arrghhh

Ok ramblings over, just thought I’d share.

TDR For The WIN!!!

Grats mate, that sounds like a ton of fun! :D

If its any consolation Im stuck at work on my own as well, although its not too bad as I can just surf SWTOR websites while I keep an eye on the phone

I got this yesterday after lots of umming and aaahhing, not sure when I will get time to play it but hopefully I just click with it and the short times I play it are rewarding. Going to research on MMO tactics, as this is my first MMO but im not sure that I will do an awful lot of teaming up, mainly due to the limited and unplannable amounts of time I will be able to find.

Maybe a silly question but does anyone here play this 'casually' like im guessing I will end up doing?

For an MMO, this game is well suited to casual play.

The class storylines themselves can be completed totally solo and are actually well worth it - the stories are generally very compelling (although some are better than others). The game is worth the money alone just for the class stories imo.

You can also queue solo for Warzones that are a lot of fun, and some of the flashpoints can be done in around 45 minutes + time to get the group together.

There is also crafting too if you are into that, although it isnt the most complex system.

I rolled an alt on Kellion Jarro. Name is Rikku. Add me to guild please.

Also, off topic. Anyone on Chuundar, republic side, that wants 3-4K credits who also has an Empire toon who can send me 3-4K credits at all??

Last night I had one of the most fun Hutt Ball games till date (despite the fact I normally loath it) my brother forced me for one before he hit the hay, him a stealthy 21 Sith me a BH Advanced Prototype, straight off the bat kill two republic scum before they even get to the middle and for the next 5 minutes become their healers new worst enemy, killing him and legging it a few times with 10% health heal up and return, win a one on one with a level 50 Merc BH, outsmarting him and interrupting his casts which left me walking away with 5% heath but standing, healing up and starting to chase their healer who runs away towards the entire group (which I did not know) after finishing him off I look up and see EVERY single Republic player running towards me and blasting off all ranged abilities possible , on goes shield, healing DOT and Hydraulic Overrides and ZOOM off I run sneak the sprint in the pit and the healing buff in the corner not even looking back surviving and inadvertently assisting in our 5th score.

Scored a point some where, passed to score a point and just made mince meat of anyone in my path, played as bait in the middle for a bit with my stealthy brother punishing everyone who dared to attack while I kited them around with a smirk on my face.

Had a great laugh and will be doing loads more in the coming days to make sure I have enough points for all the level 40 PVP gear which is PVE gear anyway, both DPS and Tanking :D

TDR For The WIN!!!

Sounds like fun

Also, +1 on the "TDR For The WIN!!!" :D

Yesterday was fine on my JG - was getting over 10k XP per WZ. :Z
Warzone XP is still fine at lower levels but it sucks at higher levels now. Pre-patch i was getting 23k xp for a win at level 46, yesterday i wasn't even bothering with the Warzones as they were awarding only 18 to 21k for a win and 14k for a loss even though i was 3 levels higher, it was much quicker just getting to 50 through questing. Not looking forward to leveling up my first alt now, especially as my next planned one is a Marauder.

I opened up a fair few of the PvP Champion bags last night and ended up with a bunch of gear. My juggernaught went from being meh to topping the scoreboards in warzones and just annihilating everything in its path. So much fun :D

Guys, a hint if I may, if anyone is approaching level 40, and like me gets bored making/LFG for flashpoints the PVP vendor sells level 40 orange gear with blue mods, for DPS, Tank and Healer, I bought 2 implants 100WZ commendations each, way better than what I had, I will be doing pvp and be getting the DPS and Tanking set, helm, chest, legs and gloves (if I am not mistaken) ear (I make my own) implants, belt and bracers all better than what I have, as one needs 210k for a riding skill every penny counts so no more credits spent anywhere except repairs in two levels have level 40 gear and all thanks to bashing players about in War Zones.

Will be doing Warzones till I hit 40 (unless it is really slow) so if anyone in TDR keen to join me I will be spamming in /g chat :D

After your 210k mount skill you have a 330k one to buy at 50 so you can ride the level 50 mounts :p Good news is that you make plenty by then anyway, i think i had something around 700k by 50 and 400k left over after buying all the level 50 combat skills.

Another hint for PvP gear, if anyone plans on PvP'ing while leveling up, buy multiples of the PvP weapons from level 34 and up, pull the mods out of them that have the Expertise stat then put them into your various armour pieces for an extra 10% damage, defense and healing during PvP ;)

My Level 41 Sage - has full Level 40 PvP gear except for the bracers and weapon - I can make implants (Biochem) so have better then PvP ones anyway - not to mention resuable stims to bolster my Willpower.... BOOM!

Only 7k though after levelling all my stuff - mostly because Diplomacy is a sink and i've chucked tonnes of cash into it... 400/400 now! :D

Hi all, Ireoxee/Lugger here. Thought I would introduce myself on the forums.

My SWTOR chars are:
Ireoxee a lvl 20 Bounty Hunter Mercenary specced as a healer (Bodyguard skill tree)
Lugger a lvl 13 Sith Warrior Juggernaught specced as a tank (Immortal skill tree)

Have a four month old son, so my game-time is sporadic!

Happy to come and help in similar/lower level missions so shout if I am online and I will see what I can do :)

On Frostclaw and in the Guild there

Came up against a premade in Warzones yesterday with a 50 Juggernaught - ended unpleasantly for my poor level 25 Commando!!! :p

Their whole team just threw him out front and he soaked up everything.

That sounds like a cunning plan, but I dabble in PVP at the moment for fun and now to just get fully geared for minimal effort, I enjoy questing and PvE flashpoints so will keep my gear 100% PvE except perhaps a blaster.

At a later point might make a PVP set and plant those in there :D

But for now I just want some tanking gear to see how I hold out :p

Yet a excellent idea for when I level a alt for PvP :)

Maybe you can help me....Im level 27 trying to level up Biochem, and Ive hit a wall at Skill level 100. The vendor is not selling me any more recipes below 140 - and all the recipes that give me skillups seem to require goods I can only obtain from diplomacy.

Does that sound right to you? Just want to be sure - at 250 creds a pop (at the moment) those diplo missions can burn my credits pretty easily!

Cheers

Sounds about right to me, mate the amount of credits I sunk into my Cybertech/Underworld trading, I swear I could have learnt my speeder skill thrice, yet money comes money goes and I do not think you can progress without diplomacy, I spend 1.7k+ every time I send some one out to get me some underworld metals so you are still playing with small potatoes :p
