900/1800/2200 1125v

Same as Quicken, Mine gets to 80-85c after a few hours with fans set to full.

I've read the thermal limit is 103c and to keep it under 95c. (How true that is, I dont know)

910 core 1820 shader 2200 memory. Temps were GPU1 72 GPU2 79 on air.

Because andy some people like to push things to see what they can get out of them, for some it maybe cars, for some its a CPU, for others its a GPU. Each to their own, their is no obligation for anybody to O/C their hardware, or see how fast they can get the car to 60mph. Its about choice.

I enjoy a spot of benchmarking and pushing my hardware to potential limits, i can then see what works and what does not, it then gives me the knowledge and expercience to help others if needed.

Why does one feel the need to overclock something that they paid loads of money for because it was already fast enough?

I don't get it

This is the overclockers UK forum, its in the title really ;)

Personally its because I want more performance at the points where you actually need it due to having a smooth gaming experience at certain settings is just beyond current hardware unless you SLI/Xfire cards.

Overclocking can push extra years out of your hardware if you do it well. A good example is a system I bought back in 2008 from here which was a core2duo based on which I put a 1.2ghz overclock on the CPU and finally played crysis 1 smooth enough to enjoy it :D

I think it's pretty hard to kill hardware these days IF you research a little before hand and don't go too mad at first.

I think most guides on these forums are very helpfull and someone is always ready to give advice (Or mock :-)

Start at a good base and work up in small increments, Your system will let you know when its had enogh.

Hi....Just been playing Arkham City for 3 hours with the same g/card. My overclocked settings are 1125 core voltage, 920 core clock, 1840 shader and 2200 memory and getting an average of 35 fps.

I can only get my TF2 to 850 100% stable, sure I can play Assassins Creed at 900 but BF3 will eventually cash to the desktop.

i went with your clocks after doing loads of testing and adjusting..

working well ATM playing bf3 temps risen by a few degrees and getting a few more frames nearly 10, ive turned my 120mm fan on the side of the case to max aswell...

no idea with your card, just increase every thing a little at a time and use a program like furmark or similar to test its stable...

not yet tried to clock my card yet whats the safest volts settings using a gainward twin fan 580gtx.

Safe and overvolting dont really go together ;) but You should be ok up to 1.1v if you watch your temps. Only cards like the Lightnings and a few others are designed to be abused with lots of volts ;)
