Apple iPad 3 in January rumor...

Money is waiting. I bought my mrs an iPad 1 last year and it's easily the best thing we have bought for the house as a family. We all use it every single day.

I will get a 3 on launch, providing it has the same screen size and is an decent upgrade or I will just buy a iPad 2 from the refurb store.

January launch would be a pr disaster. Loads of people I know have got iPad 2 for Christmas and would be a bit miffed if a new one come out in January. March would be a far better idea.
 
Doubt it, March/April more realistic. No need for them to rush anything out to beat any of the competition given they still sit a top the tablet market comfortably.

What will the IPad3 do that a cheeper 2 won't? Or indeed your existing 1 won't?
 
Nearly got an iPad 1 when they came out, held out and saw the retina display on the iPhone 4 and have never been able to consider the iPad since. Assuming the iPad 3 has retina display, I'll be getting one no questions asked :cool:
 
The date choice is to coincide with the late Job's birthday, so it does make sense. Rushing out a product to meet a date with potential bugs and unpolished features would probably make him rise up from the grave and take over Apple again as an undead CEO.

Is "retina display" just Apples sales speak for higher resolution?
 
I hope there will be a 128Gb version. I download way to much on my iPod so goodness knows what I'd be like if I owned an iPad 3. lol
 
I thought the iPad2 had the better display, I was going to get one, as soon as I seen it I didnt bother.

After using the iPhone4 for ages you can just see pixels all over :p

Anyone with an iPad 1 it would be a good upgrade but the people with an iPad 2 no point.

Same as anyone who purchased an iPhone 4S, who had a 3GS (Good upgrade) not for the people who owned an iPhone 4.

Why a you stating these things like they're fact when they're just guesses?

You have no idea what the iPad 3 will bring.
 
It makes no financial or any marketing sense to release the iPad 3 in January.

1 - Most people will be paying off their credit card bill from Christmas
2 - It is out of their normal release cycle
3 - The iPad 2 is still selling really well so why kill that off so soon? You would want to milk it as much as you can.
