WE ALL GUN DY NEXT YEAR
Man, if you think thats scary you would have never gone outdoors in the 80s during the cold war.
Try watching the film 'Threads' and see the possibility people in the UK were facing back then.![]()
The real nutters are the ones who don't have an emergency kit. Don't have photocopies of impotent paperwork,
So what do you think is going to happen that will leave everyone alive but fighting for their lives?
Its a little odd that you don't think that if such a situation should arise that I wouldn't just take your stockpile from you at any rate....

I obviously don't buy into the doomsday stuff but for the last five years I've always had 3 months worth of food, fuel and batteries in the case of any event that would restrict those items (natural disaster, civil disturbance, war, severe hardship etc).
most likely will be economic collapse Euro/UK/USA
globalisation collapse with failure of JIT system around the globe.
just think how many times a day your local supermaket gets deliveries and then think how long it would to be emptied if for whatever reason they stopped coming.
There is nothing wrong with taking sensible precautions in case of disaster. Its just most people are too stupid to do it and make fun of those that do.
The real nutters are the ones who don't have an emergency kit. Don't have photocopies of impotent paperwork, passport and change of cloths in a bag that can be picked up in an emergency, don't have any emergency supplies. They are worse than the doomsday nutters by far.
Good point, I remember the documentary on Channel 4 about how close it all got to nuclear war. I guess there is always something to be "worried" about in the world![]()
Knowing my luck the world will end.. I would survive and the only thing left to eat would be tinned spam.![]()
Just how many people have lived in cities with that attitude, cities, towns and villages that got wiped off the map or had to be evacuated?I live in England. Why would I need those precautions?
The only plausible natural disaster here is flooding and I live on a hill on high ground. If that floods, we're all screwed anyway and I'd almost certainly be dead before then from whatever apocalyptic catastrophy could result in such immense flooding. Major asteroid impact, something like that.
The only really crucial paperwork is my deeds and they're in a bank anyway. Everything else I could get copies of.
Worst case scenario would be my house burning down or blowing up, in which case I'd either be dead in it, in a hospital or in a hotel. None of those possibilities require "photocopies of impotent paperwork, passport and change of cloths in a bag that can be picked up in an emergency [..] emergency supplies."
Heaven! Bonus if I had a pan to fry it in.
