I'm with you on that. The whole this weekend / next weekend winds me up. Next weekend is not "the next weekend" that's this weekend. Next weekend is the weekend after this weekend!

I realise I didn't explain myself well.

Similar thing happened when my parents bought their car.
"£x and tax"
After some discussion on the final price I sensed some difference of understanding, I broke my silence and asked.
"£x and tax, do you mean the tax is included in £x or that we pay £x plus the £200 for tax?"

Luckily I did ask, as my mum and salesman thought that it was £x and tax, my dad thought tax was included in the £x.
