Oil For Noisy Fan ?

Hi,

Can anyone please recommend an oil suitable for a noisy fan? A quick read up indicates I need a silicone oil but I am not sure if I need to buy a dedicated fan oil such as "fan lube" or if there is a suitable and cheaper alternative?

Sorted, used a bit of organic olive oil, quiet as a mouse and tastes good too

i was going to suggest a drop of motor oil or machine oil or something but it seems you also have a good solution

Sewing machine oil or the oil that comes with Hair clippers is perfect for this. Just for future reference
