Traffic stops, I guess the type of car does make a difference.

Not quite as much as I used to be - lived there near the met line station for 2 years, but moved to Radlett at the beginning of 2010. Still come in for shopping etc pretty frequently though.

Not really. Your posting can be pretty obnoxious when it comes to you claiming to be in the Police force.

Well, that's not my intention, but posts will always rub some people up the wrong way.

You know the stereotypical bullied at school police officer everyone loves to hate, that doesn't really exist but people who want a moan at the Police will bring up? Your posting quantifies it. I say this as someone who was going to be a Special myself, that was, until I started socialising with other wannabe Police officers.

Perhaps we're all better off without your efforts then.

Its the equivalent of someone in the TA making out they served front line in Afghan with the Royal Marine Commandos far isolated far outside Bastion. Yes they may have gone to Afghanistan, yes its admirable that they volunteer their time, yes they may have gotten in a slightly hairy situation, but they are not Royal Marines.

Well, I'm sorry they don't meet your very high expectations. I'm not sure what your definition of a Police Officer is exactly then.

I was too busy rioting and being part of large groups of people who drove the cowardly Police back during the original Tesco riot to be having a conversation, I am sure I would have bought it up had they won that evening though ;)

I stand by my point that you're rather ignorant of the reality.

I moved to Watford not too long ago. An E60 M5 may be on the cards at some point in the future, mind if I had a look at yours at some point and a p-ride? Feel free to tell me where to go.

no personal attacks please no matter how emotive the subject.

You know nothing about these men and women that volunteered their lives! All units worked togeather, so yes they may have been on mission with the Royal Marines. My brother was TA and was front-line, you have no right to insult any body serving in the armed forces. Which I found your attitude very insulting.

I disagree

Strongly doubt it. My effectiveness of a Police officer would hardly be affected by my dislike of the stereotype of a volunteer Police officer which I came across in abundance, much like the teaching profession.

It could be someone who does it full time for a living, not volunteers? :p

Sure I am.... although try reading my original post again and you will pretty much see your shooting yourself in the foot by saying that :D

Why does recieving a pay cheque at the end of the month rather than an expenses form make someone more or less a police officer?

No one made any claims to be a regular employed police constable.

Woah! You ignorant little ****.

Sorry you took offence to my post bro, just basing my comments off my experience in the OTC with certain groups of people and it being explained to me as so by members of the armed forces I respected, some of whom were TA themselves.

I am well aware there are TA members in the SAS and such, on the front lines, doing the top work, the ones who don't brag about being in the Army, not the stereotype, I am sure your brother will know exactly the kind of person I'm talking about.

If your not happy with that, well then, come at me.

I know technically you are correct, and what you do is admirable and all that, but I can very easily see how you saying you are a Police officer when you are a Special can rub people the wrong way, as, no matter how you swing it, there are people who don't see Specials as real police officers.

As in, not myself.

So whats your point then? Someone asked if Burnsy is a policeman, which he is. Anybody that disagrees would be incorrect and misinformed.

If I was posting obnoxiously but seemingly unawares, I would want telling about it (and frequently am "You ignorant little ****." lol, proper care mad about posting!)

Never been pulled and I drove a GT-Four for a number of years with a bean tin on the back mostly like an arse.

I think it's quite reasonable to say that someone who is a special is not 'a policeman'. A special is not a regular police officer and regular is what most people will be alluding to, not that you occassionally walk around doing the same things. Though in this particular case Burnsy made it quite obvious.

He never claimed to be a regular police officer. A Special Constable is a warranted constable. He has the same powers, wears the same uniform, does some of the same jobs.

He was asked if he was a policeman, which he is, and he even added quite clearly that he was a Special.

Ain't specials basically the way up to being a police officer?

Are you paid burnsy? Work weekends, so I am guessing you see plenty of night life in what you do?

A special is apart of the police force.

10 years ago, I used to drive a 205 GTI like a bit of a badass. I got pulled over a lot.

Today, I drive a 205 GTI like a bit of a badass. I never (touch wood) get pulled over.

So what has changed?

a) Location. Was South Wales, now Leicestershire
b) Time. Used to drive around in the middle of the night, now drive in the morning and early evening.

So car and driving style (in my experience) have surprisingly little to do with it. I guess there are more bored traffic cops in South Wales.

I'm not saying he claimed to be a regular police officer. You should read my posts more carefully.

Na just Leicestershire police are lazy when it comes to stop checks lol.
