*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Spent 30 minutes hunting a couple of datacrons on Nar Shaddaa. I've never liked platform games, but it's kinda turned in to one for a while this afternoon!

I'm glad no one was in the area watching me try to get across one nasty jump as I died twice. Would've been embarrassing. :D

Still, 2 down, 1(?) to go.

5 on Nar Shadaa

We had fun today one of our newer guys Pathos, was getting ganked on Tat by 4 sith, so we went to pay em a visit, was first just us 4 v them, we gave them a good kicking so they brought 4/5 mates, so we brought 10 or 15, and went around wiping every sith we could find on tat hour later you could not see a sith anywhere.

We even killed them in their camps master sith guard or not :)

please ignore my ignorance, didnt this game come out about 10 years ago? im sure i have ot on the original xbox, whats the difference? or is it a new game with the same name??

What are The Immortals like? Is it a busy guild? As I said earlier, the OCUK guild (Black Sun Pirates) on ToFN hasn't really shown many signs of life since I joined it yesterday, and especially considering it seems to have the longest queues of any server in Europe, it doesn't seem worth it to me at the moment.

My problem is that I'm pretty dead set on playing a Bounty Hunter, and I desperately want to be on a PvP server. The only OCUK that catered to those wishes were The Black Sun Pirates, but for whatever reason (probably the queues) most people who'd initially signed up to it don't seem to be there anymore. I'd probably be willing to make a Republic alt and see how I get on in a busier guild.

The guild is never empty no matter what time you log on and from 2pm till maybe 11pm, we hardly ever drop below 50 on line.

We do have a sith sister guild, but if its for your main I could not honestly recommend it right now, while there are as few on line all the time its pretty small.

Knights of the old republic is what you're thinking of, this is just the old republic.

And it's an MMO.

You're thinking about KNIGHTS OF the old republic, the rpg that this is based upon in part.
This is The Old Republic, no knights of and is brand new, and an MMO unlike the first and second.

Sweet, Niman server you say? I've made a Jedi Consular on there - probably going Shadow - called Olorin. Would it be ok for me to join? Or is it a strongly regimented guild I'll have to apply for through forums

We not strongly regimented but we would expect all members to sign up to our web site, and use our VoIP, not every days but at times will drop out recruitment peel below
We do not accept blank applicants, if you cant be bothered to fill out a few lines, we cant trust you to ever work as part of a guild.
We do not ever ninja invite, so please do not ninja apply :D

Things thats quite nice to know:
List your past MMORPG experience, if any
Have you played MMO before you don't need to list them if you don't want, just nice to know what you know :), don't let it worry you if you have never played one as it makes no difference to being accepted, its just nice for us to know what level you are.(in lots of ways newbies work out better than old vets like me :()
What are you looking for in a guild?:
What do you expect from a guild, what is your ideal guild pretty simple stuff
What can you contribute to a guild?:
Are you a crafter, or a raider ..or both, what would you expect members to contribute to the Guild.
Web and VOIP:
While we don't expect everyone to post stuff every day on the web site, a intro would be nice for the other members to see who you are.
We also expect all members to come onto our VOIP maybe not everyday, but certainly at sometime, and definitely for all raids/Guild events! - Not having a Mic is not a factor so long as you can hear whats being said :D
We expect (without fail) for all members to sign up to our raid planner.
We don't have lots of hard & fast rules, but the few we do have we expect players to adhere to.
If for any reason you feel you cant meet any of these requirements then I guess The Immortals would not be the best fit for you.
To the rest Welcome to your New MMO home :)

Things about us
Ok In ToR we will be a PvP guild, looking at end game raiding, and lots of PvP events :)
We being around a long time, last few games to mention a few LoTRo, we were called Rohan Riders there, (we only use Immortals name in games that have PvP, as in some kind of world PvP). In AoC we had 2 guilds Broken Promise on the PvE server Crom, and The Immortals on Fury, last time I checked they were still going quite well.
We were in WaR as The Immortals, and same again in DC Universe.
We are a fairly casual guild, that likes to progress, (being casual has not stopped us from gaining many firsts in a lot of games)
Saying all that in a lot of ways we will be a new guild going into this game, so everyone has the same chance to advance in the guild, old or new members, we not a clicky guild where players who want cant participate in the guild at all levels, In fact we go out of our way to draw everyone in.

As we have grown a fair bit for this game there will be plenty of chances for the new members who want to move into guild leadership roles from Junior officers to deputy leaders, all it takes is commitment to the guild and patience, do not ask to be promoted, it has the reverse effect. We will definitely look at pushing at least 6 new members into officer position, but it will not happen in a day.

Besides that we a friendly bunch, talk as much rubbish as the person on Mumble..
We here to have a laugh, raid and wipe together.. and kill all we see :)..... well unless you in a group with Bobricka ..then not only will die but be lost and broke as well :p

Eeegads, I seem to lurch from one game stopping moment to the next :(
OK, I've now tried and failed 12 times to take out Commander Rayfel.
I just cannot get close.

The two soldiers at the back cause so much hassle, if I attempt to take them out first my companion is already dead before I get chance to take the Commander.
I'm using "kick" when I can to disrupt him - but this is getting crazy.

I've got nothing else to do on the planet and nothing else open - story stopping for me.
Level 45 now, could go off and level up but don't like the idea of just "levelling" so I can complete this part of the story.

Any tips on which companion to use, which people to take out first.....any tips at all on getting past this guy?

Ask someone to help you out? :)

I'm enjoying my Agent. Goluud Corridor server. Met a few decent folk, and my best friend is also on there. Thinking of setting up a guild for us all. Anyone here on the same server?

I tried my first bit of PvP today, and did quite well. We lost 1 - 0 at Huttball - they scored just as I joined :( - but I got 30 - 4, and a load of medals, so not too bad :D

I'm thinking of rolling either a Trooper or a Jedi Knight as an alt. Might do it on Kellian Jarro or Frostclaw, so will be giving someone a shout at some point, I imagine :p

Can any1 help me going out my mind here.
im on the class quest for bounty hunter juxtaposition. i need to speak to
zale barrows but a force field is blocking me, there is nothing above the force field to knock it out. and the elevator wont work saying the genarator is turned off. any1 that can help would be great, spent 2 hours running round in circles here :(

They're good, you just have to make sure you roll your cooldowns properly, otherwise you'll find yourself getting stuffed on a lot of mobs.

Don't be put off.

This.

I'm a sith marauder and was thinking the same as you but having sorted out a rotation I'm killing gold elites with half my health left. It's so noticeably better, when I Don't concentrate on my attacks I get my face caved in, when I do things die shockingly fast.

Anyone else finding it stupidly hard for end of mission bosses as a Jedi Consular/shadow?

Got stuck, went away and got 2 levels higher, still finding it hard. Soon as I get her close dead she uses a health pack which puts her all the way back to half way to which I'm pretty much dead.

Also, my gear is always in need of repair, pretty much every 20 minutes -.- 22 credits and over 2k worth of stuff to repair. Spent the last two days killing enemies and looting them for their money, side missions etc.

Not really a fan of this whole mmo thing, annoying because I love the game.

I am rolling a Trooper: Combat Medic at the moment, only level 17 so not that far into it yet. Loved healing in wow and hope swtor will be as fun.

so far the game does feel very good, not had any problems with quests other than self inflicted issues that I have been able to work out by small amounts of theory crafting.

not sure what server I am on, will check when i login next

What rotation are you using? On my guardian I jump in, AOE jump (if mobs), sunder armour, (free) blade storm, slash, sunder armor, masterstrike then start using riposte, blade storm and slash whilst keeping the sunder armor stack always at 5. Use stasis or force push if elite. Starting to feel more powerful now I'm level ~27.

Using soresu form so I have ~3000 armor and ~5000 health. Mixture of Tank and Vigilance trees.

Does extremely well when partnered with a Sage for Heroics, its a pity the second jedi knight companion isn't one.
