Hi all,

I have a Dell XPS8300 Desktop with desktop, initially with a Radeon HD 5770. When purchased I had a black border around the outside, which I removed by deselecting the scaling with the software.

Whenever I updated the graphics driver it would revert back to the black border but in the software I was unable to get to the scaling options section and resolve it and so had to keep the out of date software/drivers. I rolled back the system to a time whereby I had the ability to fix this issue.

PS I use a Samsung 24" full 1080p monitor.

I have today installed a new powersupply and installed a Radeon HD 6870 (Powercolour), Again the black border has returned and as the software has updated to meet the needs of the graphics card, I am unable to do anything with the scaling and fix it?

Can anyone assist with this issue please?

P.S. Tried a few games - didnt notice a big difference between the 5770 and 6870 dispite the benchmarks being very different on Tom's Hardware benchmarks.

I will update with an image tomorrow when back in the office (on laptop at mo, which I might add is so much faster with the SSD update, well recommend).

Just a guess, but are you using an HDMI cable? If so, that will be the issue, so you need to either find the scaling option in CCC or if it really bugs you, get a DVI cable.

The easiest option is to use a DVI cable if the monitor has a DVI connection and you don't need audio through the cable.

No scaling issues with DVI :)

Right click the monitor on the screenshot you posted, click configure and it should take you to this:

Can't 100% remember how to do this for the old CCC as I upgraded to the new Vision engine control centre ever since it came out.

Thanks for your response. I did had this option when I had my 5770 but after installing my 6870 and updating drivers this option went totally.
