RC Helicopters

I got a Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 Nitro RC helicoptor for xmas. :D

Just need to find £200 for a controller now!

I started off with a Pico Z, £20 one. I flew it until it was dead but got pretty good with it.
I then bought a DX6i Transmitter as this would be good for both planes and Helicopters, the phoenix simulator and a Blade MSR.
I find I use the sim more than flying the MSR as it seems to be too constrained in my house(I have a big house) yet outside it gets blown around with a breath of wind.
My wife bought me a Parkzone P47 plane for xmas. I've been practicing this loads on the Phoenix sim.
I'd recommend anyone to buy a Dx6i and phoenix sim as although they seem expensive, they are damn good for practising planes and helicopters.

I love my helis. Right now I'm converting my Trex 250 to flybarless. I'm just waiting for the loctite to set as I post this.

I have an Outrage Fusion 50, Trex 250, Trex 500, 3x Tarot 450s with varying setups, a Blade mCP X (which is brilliant btw), a Blade mSR, a Blade mCX, a Guru-Z Xeon fixed pitch, and a Walkera 4#3a. The last 4 of those I listed I'll probably never fly again, so I should really get around to selling them before they're worthless.

The Fusion 50 isn't finished yet. It still needs a flybarless controller/receiver. I've been buying bits for it every month so it's less painful to the wallet.

I also have a DX8, a DX7 (which my Dad uses and hasn't paid me for yet), Phoenix sim, about 30+ lipos and an iCharger 308B to charge them all.

My S107g had a run in with the clothes horse and now sounds very rattly and seems to have lost some power... I've taken the top blades and gyro off as I'm pretty sure that's where the problem was, checked everything was ok and reassembled but still no joy :(

Just got my s107, the steering is a little off.

The direction sticks default position is a little to the right... easy to fix?

Just bought that very combination today and am looking forward to getting to grips with it.

May take some time though :D

Was going to buy the kit with the Dx5 bundle but the guy recommended the Dx6i.

I fly a Honey Bee CP3 and a Walkera 4G3 (dual brush-less).

I'm keen to get into multi-copters, I'd love to get into FPV flying one day..

One of the customer reviews on that site has confirmed that it is the same as the Caipo toys KM-630A2 model.... although as far as I can see they are the only reseller in the UK anyway!

Sounds like quite a good price to me though... or is it?

Good call. The DX5e is no good for flying helis. Personally, I wouldn't even use one for planes, and I don't even fly planes (yet).

Buying the sim and radio first really is the best way to go. Learn the basics on that, then join a club, buy a heli that plenty of folks at the club know inside out, and then get buddy cabled up with an experienced pilot, and you'll be in the air in no time.

Got my S107g today. Pretty impressive. Thought the back rotor was broken at first but then tried going forward and it roars into action. Really nice toy. :D

spent £300 yesterday on blade MCPX, phoenix sim with DX6i.

spent hours on sim, brilliant. crashed the mcxp after 10 secs and snapped off the tail boom :( lol

I just wanted a simple basic model to fly indoors, so was also thinking about getting a S107G, but (of course!) I wanted it today, and not some time next week.

Anyway, I popped into our local model shop this morning, and they showed me a Micro Twister Ninja, which is a small carbon fibre 3-channel heli with a gyro stabilisation system.

It is said to be virtually 'unbustable', but still comes with spare main rotor blades and two spare tail rotors also... all for just £25, so how could I resist! :)

Looking forward to having some fun with it later! ;)
